George Bush, ***** Cheney and many, many others deliberately orchestrated the
911 attacks on the USA and murdered thousands of Americans in order to
invade Afghanistan for their opium traffic and gain advantage to invade the
Ukraine in order to steal their oil as well as the oil in Iraq.
There's no doubt that Bush, And Cheney are criminals and murderers who
should be tried for treason and murder and executed. Just like another
criminal should be who commits egregious crimes against humanity.
Bush & Cheney are completely without conscience -- pathological murderers.

Title: Us Military In Iraq Refusing Orders 08 Dec 2004 02:17:29 AM
When members of the Army’s 343rd Quartermaster Company refused orders in
Iraq last month they considered too dangerous, it didn’t surprise Michael
Hoffman. He had expected something like this. Hoffman, 25, went to Iraq
with the Marines, then returned to help found Iraq Veterans Against the War
this past July.

“When [soldiers] are asked to put their life on the line for no clear
reason. ...” he says, breaking off. “They’re still human beings and they
still have a breaking point.”

The national conversation about the war largely has taken place absent those
who are fighting it. The military makes it hard for its members to speak
independently. In a culture that prizes obedience, loyalty and duty, no one
is rewarded for breaking rank. Further, the Bush administration over the
past three years has sent the message that dissent is un-American.

Because dissent is discouraged, the extent of it is hard to pin down. Yet
resistance has been there since the war began, and signs of dissent are now
popping up with increasing frequency. Calls to the GI Rights Hotline
(1-800-394-9544) also spiked, and now hold steady at about 2,800 a month.

From 2002 to 2003, according to military records, conscientious objection
(CO) applications tripled for the Army and quadrupled for the Marines, the
two branches most involved in combat in Iraq. The actual number of
applications, however, is probably much higher. Official numbers reflect
only those applications that make it to headquarters. CO applicants
complain they find it hard to get accurate information about the process and
are discouraged from applying once they do. Military counselors estimate
that several hundred are in the works.

As hundreds, perhaps thousands, are quietly trying to avoid being shipped to
Iraq, at least six soldiers have fled to Canada, where they are petitioning
for refugee status. A handful of resisters have made their protest public,
and one received punishment harsh enough for Amnesty International to adopt
him as a prisoner of conscience.

Title: US Military Deseting War In Iraq 08 Dec 2004 02:25:01 AM
Toronto Sun
Sun, December 5, 2004
He's fleeing the war
Deserter faces long odds, writes Michelle Mandel
By MICHELE MANDEL -- For the Toronto Sun

When American military deserter Jeremy Hinzman appears at his refugee
hearing tomorrow, seeking asylum in Canada because he does not want to fight
in Iraq, the AWOL soldier will not be alone.
Beside him will be Jimmy Massey, a former gung-ho Marine staff sergeant
forever haunted by what he saw and what he did for his country in Iraq.
"We shot a guy with his hands up," Massey recalled somberly, staring out the
window of an Annex pub. "A young Iraqi, he was probably in his mid-20s. And
then we shot a group of protesters. Then we shot a red Kia, there were four
occupants in the red Kia Spectra, fatally wounding three of them.

Feels guilt
"The driver was miraculously unscathed. Hearing him continuously asking me,
'Why did you kill my brother? We're not terrorists,' I think was the worst
thing that happened."
His clear blue eyes turn back then from gazing outside, unwilling to evade
the guilt he feels. "That's something I live with every day."
And so the 33-year-old fully supports Hinzman's decision in January to head
for Canada with his wife and baby after learning his unit was shipping out
to Iraq.
While Hinzman enlisted voluntarily in 2001, Massey argues that for many of
the poor and lower-middle class in America, the military remains the only
way to get a decent vocation and a college education. By 2002, Hinzman had
already begun to question his ability to serve in combat and applied to be
considered a conscientious objector. He served in a non-combat role in
Afghanistan and was prepared to do the same in Iraq, but his CO application
was turned down.
Told he was heading soon to Iraq, Hinzman, 25, felt he had no other choice
but to head north and seek refugee status.
At least two other U.S. soldiers have done the same, but all face the same
daunting task. It is virtually unprecedented for Canada to grant refugee
status to someone from the United States. Canada's Immigration and Refugee
Board (IRB) would have to accept that Hinzman faces persecution because of
his political opinions or that he needs protection because he'd be subject
to cruel or unusual treatment if sent back.
Not only is that a high, if impossible, threshold to prove, but Ottawa has
taken the unusual step of intervening, to oppose the trio's applications,
arguing the soldiers are not being persecuted. Despite its opposition to the
Iraq war, Canada is hardly anxious to open the floodgates to American
deserters.
Hinzman's lawyer, Jeffry House, had planned to argue that the Iraq war is
illegal.
But last month, his case was dealt a severe blow when the IRB accepted the
Canadian government's argument that the legality of the U.S. war on Iraq is
"irrelevant" to his claim.
He faces up to five years in jail if returned to the U.S.
So Massey has come here from North Carolina to tell the refugee board that
as a soldier, Hinzman would have been expected to shoot Iraqi civilians
under the mistaken assumption that they are masquerading as terrorists.
As part of the initial invasion force, Massey's platoon was suddenly
expected to switch from a "killing mentality" to a "pacification role."
They were ordered to set up roadblocks on the outskirts of Baghdad and check
cars for insurgents and weapons.
If the Iraqis failed to halt, the troops were instructed to open fire with
their 50-calibre ammunition.
When the killing stopped, and they finished pulling out the bodies, they
discovered time and time again that none had been armed.
"The youngest was a six-year-old boy," Massey said softly.
In the case of the red Kia, the driver sat on the curb with his head in his
hands, sobbing over his dying brother. The three pulled from the car spent
their last minutes writhing in agony in the dirt.
"We didn't even give them morphine," he said.
Then came the order to pack up their gear and move out. "We were told to
throw the bodies in the ditches at the side of the road so that's what we
did."
His gaze is sad, but steady. "You know, I get asked a lot about fog of war.
Over 48 hours, we killed 30 plus civilians. I can think of only one incident
that it was fog of war where we didn't know," he says.
"The rest of them were cold-blooded murder."
Had enough
Massey had had enough. After his honourable discharge in December 2003, he's
travelled the world protesting the war.
During a speech in Boston, he was asked why the Iraqis failed to stop at the
checkpoints. He didn't know, until a Muslim woman came up later to explain.
The fist the Marines raised to stop them would have meant solidarity to the
Iraqis, she said. And the warning shot fired in the air was seen as a
traditional sign of celebration. "They thought you were celebrating the fact
that you were liberating them," she told him, "when in fact, you were
murdering them."
Now he must live forever with the bloody trail he left behind. Jeremy
Hinzman, he said, should not have to.

Title: Military Sentiment: Armed Forces has been a chess piece in a game for money and power by elite Americans 08 Dec 2004 02:32:55 AM
Us Versus Them
I am a manipulated stooge who sold his soul to exploit the ignorant with the
proud lies our own leaders.
I am told on a regular basis “The Army is not like it used to be.” Most of
the lifers think that the military lacks discipline and blame the new
“Nintendo generation” soldiers for the weakness. However, I think a hard
look should be given at the uses of America’s advanced military in the
modern era. Do to the operations the military has been tasked in the last
forty years the nobility of the professional soldier has been destroyed.
From Vietnam to Iraq the Armed Forces has been a chess piece in a game for
money and power by elite Americans. Back in the world wars the military
represented every citizen’s will. Today the people are duped with lies and
phoney values to support imperial progress.
Weapons of mass destruction, links to the two towers tragedy, and the
ousting of an oppressive dictatorship are all bait for a revenge hungry over
patriotic American. I doubt that the men in power are as incompetent as the
world imagines. For that reason I dismiss the apparent failures in Iraq as
not the true goals of this war. After these errors are eliminated you are
left with the truth behind the media smoke screens. This war is about money.
Most people believe that dollars are being handed over to Iraq to rebuild
their country on the backs of the American tax payers and under the
protection of US troops. However, the money never sees Iraq. It leaves your
wallet and goes through the system in DC and ends up in a corporation with
the sizeable government contract. Sure the product is a new road, a school
house or AK-47s for the Iraqi National Guard, but the money is only making a
rich man richer.
Even the soldiers are brain washed into hating the “rag heads”. I have
overheard soldiers telling racist jokes like “Why do Iraqis smell so bad? So
blind people can hate them too.” It becomes easy to hate the Arab people. We
don’t understand their culture, their religion and their language. They are
a poor people with a lesser quality of lifestyle and standard of living. The
average soldier can not relate to living without electricity, plumbing, and
toilet paper. If we see them as inferior it makes it easier to kill them.
Just as one might kill a dog that digs through his trash. As a soldier gets
into combat situations the prejudice grows as they blame every
Middle-Easterner for the conflict. The Joes hate Iraqis because the command
hypes about being in Iraqi to stabilize a democracy and fight terrorists on
their own ground. The leadership never explains the fact that a majority of
Iraqis don’t want a republic that is just a branch of the Western
materialistic culture and that they see America as an tyrant equal to the
fallen Saddam’s Baath Party. Most soldiers mistake the word insurgent to
mean a person that is inserted. As if we are fighting men from other
countries than Iraq. When, insurgent means rebel.
The common GI won’t investigate why the insurgent will sacrifice himself,
because most soldiers would never do the same. But somewhere in the back of
the GI’s mind he has a sense that what he is doing here is wrong. It gives
him doubt and discourages his morale. The lifers hold on to the lies of the
system because the truth would destroy the core of their beliefs. The fact
that the stars and bars is only an illusion for the real power behind the
throne could ruin their psyche and crash their egos. They will never let go
of their pride and us it as an excuse to cover their fear.
A war backed by our nations cowards. What else would a preemptive strike be
good for. Americans get so afraid they will kill in cold blood and thump
their chests to claim it for a good cause. History is written by the victors
and might makes right. After all is said and done it will go down that way
in the books. We will kill communists, drug dealers and terrorists. Next
will be homosexuals and atheists. Then full circle back to Jews and Blacks.
Fear and prejudice is destructive and we dominate using it. Every country
folds to American policies afraid their homes will become the next Baghdad.
And, our leaders use media to force the United States people into anxiety
using colored threat levels, video of violence, and worse case scenarios
presented as emergency updates. We even had Colin Powell lie to the worlds
most powerful council, the U.N., about Iraq’s malicious intent with nuclear,
biological, and chemical weapons. America intimidates the world while
calling the insurgent freedom fighters terrorists.
So Americans can’t let go of their fear. Like it is a security blanket from
a childhood memory. Just as most people can’t relax their guard, in Nam
lifers couldn’t relate to the men that was turned on to marijuana. To let
your mind and body go and become open to the chaos of the world is
impossible for a person who lives in constant fear of the unknown truth.
Drug usage isn’t as much of a problem here in Iraq amongst the soldiers,
yet. However with a draft, the inactive reserve and more stop-loss it won’t
be long before more soldiers discover the potency of Arab hashish and opium
based narcotics. There will be a division between lifers and the heads
again. It has already started with the stop lossed soldier obviously not
wanting to be in service any longer. Many of them get court marshaled or
chaptered out with dishonorables saving the military from paying an already
deserved Collage GI Bill and other veteran benefits. As war here in the
middle-east gets more violent the soldiers will become less afraid of
punishment. Prison will become a more sane option than trying to take
Fallujah for the fourth time.
Most the soldiers I have talked to have joined for selfish reasons. They
wanted money for collage, travel the world, get out of a dead end, avoid
going to prison, or had no direction in life. The boys who joined up to
defend the red white and blue are few and far between. I met some soldiers
that were motivated by September 11th, but not many. It is a need in today’s
society to find alternate advantages to enlist, and when kids learn what
they really signed themselves up for it is a rude awakening. Many soldiers
are counting down to their last day in the military from the first few hours
at basic training.
For all these reasons, whether the G.I.s are conscience of it or not, the
military personal have a decreased motivation and intensity. We fight for
lies, are alienated by our chain of command and are only trying to ride out
the clock until we can finish our contracts without losing what we have
worked for or seeing the inside of a prison cell. The Armed Forces will
never have a loyal troop base until it’s goals change. If there was
something worth fighting for, something the common man can gain, rather than
just being underpaid mercenaries for some elitist, then the soldiers would
have more encouragement to join in work hard.
I myself find it difficult to have discipline in an Army full of ***** kissing
lying hypocrites who enforce a wicked US policy with a violent war I
disagree with.
I serve in shame,
