A new tax strategy has been implimented in a few states that I think
deserved a LOT of attention.
For many decades, Democrats have been saying the people want a bigger
government to meet their needs, while the Republicans have been saying
the people want a smaller government with more personal control over
their own incomes. There is a new way we can find out, make taxes
optional.
Here's the plan. Make all new taxes optional. By doing this, we can
find out, once and for all, what the people want. If they truely want
a bigger government and more government programs, the congressmen can
pitch their plans to the people (like presenting it to the board of
directors) and the people can vote with their pocketbooks. If they
optionally give enough for the program, you know they want it and can
move forward. If they don't, you know they don't value it enough to
fund at this time.
This is the most democratic way to fund government that has come along
in centuries, and I hope it becomes the new status quo. Let's all
jump on the band wagon.
