FIFTY-SEVEN PERCENT OF AMERICANS HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE IN GOVERNMENT TO
DEAL WITH ANOTHER NATURAL DISASTER; 52% DO NOT TRUST PRESIDENT TO MAKE
RIGHT DECISIONS IN A CRISIS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BUSH'S JOB APPROVAL AT RECORD LOW: 38 PERCENT
SIXTY-SIX PERCENT DISSATISFIED WITH DIRECTION OF COUNTRY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SIXTY-FIVE PERCENT OF MINORITIES BELIEVE RACE WAS THE REASON FOR SLOW
RESPONSE: 47 PERCENT SAY 'MAJOR REASON;'
64 PERCENT OF WHITES SAY IT WAS NOT A REASON AT ALL
New York-
President George W. Bush's approval ratings have fallen across the
board in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and a seemingly flawed
government response to the disaster, according to the latest Newsweek
Poll.
Bush's job-approval rating dropped to 38 percent, the lowest ever in
the Newsweek Poll.
Sixty-six percent of those polled say they are dissatisfied with the
way things are going in the United States at this time; just 28
percent are satisfied, another record low in the poll.
A 52-percent majority of Americans say they do not trust President
Bush to make the right decisions during a domestic crisis, 45 percent
do.
The same number-52 percent-do not trust him to make the right
decisions during an international crisis, again, 45 percent do.

Lets see:
1. Bush bungled the response to 9/11 by attacking the wrong country.
2. He make the 'vietnam' mistake of trying to run the war himself
instead of listening to his generals - who told him they needed more troop.s
3. He rushed in to protect the oil fields, but left munitions dumps
totally unguarded.
4. Then, guess what? Our troops keep getting blown up with ied's from
these explosives.
5. There were no wmd's, nor were there ever any.
6. In Afganistan, he let Osama excape from Tora-Bora, and now, refuses
to go after him, even though he knows where he is.
7. On the domestic front, he bungled the response to Katrina, both in
the short and long views. First, Bush denies there's such a thing as
consequences to global warming, and so refuses to give NO the monies to
build stronger dykes, and then when disaster strikes, tries to blame the
locals.
8. Oil is now over 3.50/gal - so I guess those secret meetings Cheney
held with his oil cronie/buddies really paid off for them.
---
So, it won't be long before Bush, and not just the veep, is booed
publically.
