Bush Job Approval Dips With Iraq Problems
By WILL LESTER, Associated Press Writer
PHOENIX -
President Bush's job approval ratings are hitting the lowest levels of
his tenure as problems in Iraq crowd out other issues for voters,
public opinion specialists say.
A Newsweek poll released Saturday put Bush's overall job approval at
42 percent, the lowest yet in that poll.
Other recent survey have rated Bush in the mid-40s.
"Iraq is sucking the life out of other issue deliberations among the
voters in the campaign," said political scientist Douglas Strand of
the University of California-Berkeley.

42% Tch! That's ... bad.
Gray Davis in California was re-elected with a 62% approval rating.
After the power crisis and the aftermath of that, and the California
budget crisis, his approal rating was 41% by April. Then the recall effort
easily managed to get enough signatures to oust him.
Just before the recall itself, Grey managed to dip down to 24% approval
rating.
In earlier posts I twitted the ***** monkies by predicting months ago
that AWOL Bush would someday soon find his sorry ***** down in Gray Davis
approval ratings range.
Well, here he is. As predicted.
Now, as soon as Kerry picks a running mate, attends the
official Democratic Party convention, and the American people get a chance
to see him in action here, they wil know he is not the evil man
the lying GOP is making him out to be. Remember in 1980, Reagan
trailed the rather unpopular Carter by 10% at this point despite Carter's
40% approval ratings in polls. Only after enough appearances that the
American voter could see Reagan was not a raving extreme right maniac as
painted by his opponents did Reagan overtake Carter. The turning point
came in the debates when Reagan quipped "There you go again".
This will be Bush's fate after the June Democratic convention.
I predict that by late July, Bush will be in the mid 30's,
he will be about Where Barry Goldwater was when Johnson
skunked him.
Only 170 days until election day, November 2.
Say it ***** monkies!
"President John F. Kerry!".
And also say this, "Mandate!"
Other recent survey have rated Bush in the mid-40s.
