Nicaragua has announced plans to build a waterway linking the Pacific and=

Nothing new, Nicaragua was the alternative route when a Central American
Canal/Passage was first proposed 100 years ago.
It was probably the BETTER choice then, but lost out to $$/Politics.
Today, it will present a large ENVIRONMENTAL challenge/problem
as the proposed route was originally through Lake Cocibolca, the
largest freshwate lake in Central America.

I'm sure the planners' looked at the ENVIRONMENTAL Challenge.
But, consider the equipment and technology of today, which is quite a
bit
more efficient than the Appx. 1900-1914 period.
I'm still trying to get accustomed to people constructing railroads and
buildings underwater, and considering building cities on other planets!

I'm sure the planners' looked at the ENVIRONMENTAL Challenge.
Looked at it, then ignored it.
But, consider the equipment and technology of today, which is quite a bit
more efficient than the Appx. 1900-1914 period.
Which has nothing to do with the environmental problems today.
I'm still trying to get accustomed to people constructing railroads and
buildings underwater, and considering building cities on other planets!

not build our own canal on US soil. Of course it would cost a hell of a
lot but it would serve as a border defense against Mexican Nationals if
