Bush failed to show up for a physical.
Kerry was wiping out villages full of men, women and children.
Yeah, that's about equal.

So, you admit that US soldiers committed atrocities against innocent civilians
during the Vietnam war! That's a start.
Americans never denied that it happened, they're stupid and just tried to ignore

Ask and ye shall receive, Eris. By the way, I am surprised you
never heard of this. The tape has been played around radio and
television for years, and Kerry's public confession has been common
knowledge to us vets since the 70's:
(Audiotape, April 18, 1971):
MR. CROSBY NOYES (Washington Evening Star): Mr. Kerry, you said at
one time or another that you think our policies in Vietnam are
tantamount to genocide and that the responsibility lies at all chains
of command over there. Do you consider that you personally as a Naval
officer committed atrocities in Vietnam or crimes punishable by law in
this country?
SEN. KERRY: There are all kinds of atrocities, and I would have to
say that, yes, yes, I committed the same kind of atrocities as
thousands of other soldiers have committed in that I took part in
shootings in free fire zones. I conducted harassment and interdiction
fire. I used 50 calibre machine guns, which we were granted and
ordered to use, which were our only weapon against people. I took part
in search and destroy missions, in the burning of villages.

You took this quote and interpreted it to mean that John Kerry personally
was wiping out entire villages full of men, women and children? I don't
know if you're being deliberately obtuse or what, but this is an indictment
of US policy in Vietnam, not a personal confession of genocide by John
Kerry. Free fire zones, H and I, 50cal machine guns, firing villages? All
standard practice in the prosecution of the Vietnam War. If you're going to
conclude from that that Kerry was "wiping out villages full of men, women
and children", you're saying that virtually every US serviceman in Southeast
Asia committed genocide. Now, I'm sure you don't really mean *that*.
Unless perhaps you were a Vietnam War protester?
So, Bush missed a physical, hm?
Only in the bizarre world of conservative politics would a man who evaded
service in Vietnam be preferable to a combat veteran, and be praised for
that evasion. *****, once he successfully blew off Vietnam by joining the
ANG, he didn't even bother to make a pretense of military service. Clinton
and now Bush; you gotta love these presidents who somehow managed to find
some way to avoid honorable military service. Ding Kerry for his
post-Vietnam conduct if you will (he deserves it), but his conduct in
Vietnam was sound. Even George Bush has said so.

I should have corrected one of the above assertions - the
information that Mr. Bush missed a physical exam came from one of

You know, somehow you keep reinterpreting this as an personal admission of
genocide, when everybody else acknowledges it for what it is: an indictment
of US military policy in Vietnam. I'll say it again- H and I, free-fire
zones, burning of villages- all were common tactics in the prosecution of
the Vietnam War. I'll say this again, too- when you assert that the use of
H and I fire, free-fire zones, etc. constitutes mass murder, then you've
just accused virtually every US serviceman who served in Vietnam of
genocide, fron General Westmoreland on down. You would have made an
excellent Vietnam War protester.
This is getting old. While the idea that Kerry murdered thousands of people
undoubtably gives you a hard-on the size of a baseball bat, it's just not
true, and anyone who is able to consider the issue reasonably knows this.
You can go ahead and repeat this silly assertion ad nauseum, but it won't
make it any more real. There are other issues related to Kerry's service in
Vietnam that *could* be debated on a serious level- you should pick one of
them instead. It would improve your credibility substantially.

Inside, yes of course it wasn't true. But he made the charges

And one final word; then I need to let this go. Although I hassled you a
bit, I have never meant to belittle you or your beliefs. All I really want
(other than a true moderate presidential candidate!), is for political
debate to be held on legitimate points and issues; the economy, the future,
etc. Democracy- the right of people to choose their own leaders from
amongst themselves- is a precious thing. And from my point of view,
democracy is wasted when people are persuaded to vote through scurrious
means. For example, one thing I really cannot stand is a one-issue voter.
I truly believe that, in a democratic government, the electorate MUST be
well-informed and MUST participate! I think we owe it to our government and
to each other...

know if you're being deliberately obtuse or what, but this is an indictment
of US policy in Vietnam, not a personal confession of genocide by John
I am not saying that, Mr. Kerry said that.
What I really would like to know is when a true moderate is going to run for
president...
Choose for yourself: a guy who wiped out whole villages of Vietmanese
using .50 cal machine guns, or a guy who missed a physical examination
but killed nobody.
Good day. Or as John Kerry would say, bonjour.

I don't know what your problem is. There is a confession by a naval
officer who says he took out villages using .50 cal. machine guns, so
yes, that is what I believed he said. Now he wants to be president of
the United States?
Bush drove a woman to an abortion clinic and paid for her abortion.
There is no higher crime in fundie land.
Of course. Well, except wiping out villages with .50 cal.
machine guns.
I burned a village of six huts one day. After the huts stopped
burning, six machine gun bunkers appeared inside the ashes of the
huts. Did I commit an atrocity?
Of course not. You gave the occupants a chance to flee the
fire before you set it. That's not the same as firing into a hut for
no reason except to kill civilians, which is what Kerry admitted to.
If I shoot a Vietnamese with a 7.62 NATO round, .308 inches in
diameter, or a 5.65 NATO round, .223 inches in diameter, or a 50 cal
BMG, .50 inches in diameter, what is the difference?
If the Vietnamese woman is changing her baby, no. No
difference.
It is obvious that you mindlessly hate Kerry for religious reasons.
Anything you say is suspect.
Religious reasons? I am a Christian like Kerry is. And I don't
hate Kerry at all. I hate nobody. That doesn't mean I want him,
someone who would allow the UN to deploy our troops without our
permission, to become commander in chief.

Good lord. Do you have anything in your pocket besides smart-aleck

stated by Mr. Kerry. Which leaves your response (above) as the "right-wing"

and that Kerry's use of these techniques is pretty much a non-issue?

Mass murder of civilians was NOT standard operating procedure
anywhere, and never was. There was only one such case, and that was
Lt. Calley at My Lai, who actually served only a few days
imprisonment. The rest of the lurid tales was from Lt. John Kerry's

Strangely enough, President Bush himself has said that Kerry served
"honorably" in Vietnam. Quite a juxtaposition from your own assertion that
Kerry has massacred entire villages of Vietnamese. So apparently either
Bush is suffering from yet another case of <ahem> "faulty intelligence", or
worse still, he is covering up the worst crime in US military history.
Either way, it doesn't reflect well on Mr. Bush.

President Bush, as well as VP Cheney and other GOP have said

It is actually Mr. Kerry who admitted to wiping out villages
with .50 cal. machine guns and committing other war crimes. The
difference is that they want to move on to today's issues, while
hundreds Kerry's fellow swift boat vets will not let him forget what
he did and accused others of doing. And DNC/CBS is still attacking
Bush's 35 year old ANG record using forged goverment documents.

Incredible! Mark it down, folks... this week's Sign of the Apocalypse: Ken

Stick with it; we'll have you voting a straight Democratic ticket in no
time.
I'm just pulling your leg. What this *really* shows is that you are
completely selective about who and what you believe. You believe Kerry when

What's wrong with believing both Kerry and Bush? Bush & co.
believed all along that Kerry served honorably. Kerry also believes
