U.S. troops still do not have proper body armor. This is what is so
frustrating about George Bush's war in Iraq. He has sent the troops in there
without body armor! The Pentagon says in Iraq the majority of U.S. military
deaths come about from roadside bombs. However, half as many U.S. soldiers
die from Gunfire. In round numbers, if 1,500 died, then 500 died from
weapons fire as oppose to roadside bombs. In any case, gunfire is a
significant cause of death among U.S. troops in the Iraq conflict.
Twice now, since the Iraq war began, the Pentagon has failed to supply
adequate body armor to U.S. troops fighting the most lethal attacks by
insurgents. Essentially, George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld are sending the
soldiers into battle with body armor vests outfitted with ceramic plates
that cannot withstand certain munitions the insurgents use, (Moss, 2005).
It boils down to this. Not only are George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld
needlessly sacrificing U.S. service personnel in a meaningless war, but they
are sending the troops into battle with little more than dinner china
strapped to the soldier's chests. It gets worse. Bush and Rumsfeld have
known about this negligence since April 2003. In May of 2004, the same issue
came up again. Twice, the Pentagon has announced it cannot outfit the troops
with appropriate body armor.
Think about that. If you sent someone into battle knowing they had defective
body armor, wouldn't that be manslaughter with malice? YES IT IS! You would
be knowingly endangering those soldier's lives. Additionally, since the Iraq
war will not contribute to the security of the U.S., then that doubles
Bush's and Rumsfelf's guilt by complicity. Bush and Rumsfeld are
intentionally sending the troops off to be murdered. You can well imagine
Bush wouldn't go to an outdoor speaking engagement without his vest on. Well
then, why does he expect his service personnel to do just that? It is
heartless and uncaring.
This is not the half of it. The soldiers are having to armor their Humvees
with plywood, sandbags, and armor salvaged from old Iraqi tanks. We have
known that since last October. Incidentally, the troops call the Humvees
"cardboard coffins." Additionally, we have known the troops do not have
proper field radios, night vision goggles, or sufficient training
ammunition, (CBS, 2004).
All this simply spells out that Bush was not ready to go to war. He and
Rumsfeld concocted the "war on the cheap" philosophy and jumped at the
chance to attack Iraq. As confirmed by Rumsfeld when he said "You go to war
with the Army you have, not the Army you might want or wish to have."
Clearly toppling Hussein was on the Bush dynasty agenda long before Bush #43
entered the Whitehouse in 2001. Bush was looking for any excuse. So when
Bush asked his advisor, CIA director George Tenet, if there was enough
Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) evidence against Hussein, Tenet, like a
whipped puppy told Bush what Bush wanted to hear, "The evidence is slam
dunk." Of course, as we know now, there was no evidence at all. Hussein was
not a threat to the world, and especially not a threat to the United States.
Every justification George Bush had for going to war turned out to be a
fabrication. Unfortunately, along with the fabrications, Bush made
amateurish mistakes. Bush foolishly believed ***** Cheney when Cheney likened
the invasion of Iraq to that of the allied troops coming into Paris in 1945.
Cheney, demonstrated tremendous ignorance of the Middle East when he said,
after invading Iraq, "My belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as
liberators." Foolishly, Cheney thought it would be a cakewalk with Iraqis
pouring into the streets practically kissing the soldier's feet. Therefore,
once Bush had troops in Baghdad, Bush simply went to sleep, figuring Iraq
and its oil reserve were his.
Nay nay! Watchful enterprising oil entrepreneurial types, i.e. pirates, in
the Middle East watched Bush as he fumbled and stumbled through the opening
days of the war. They came to realize Bush had done the dirty work toppling
Hussein's regime. The pirates saw the Iraq oil reserves as and opportunity,
the same opportunity the Bush dynasty was after. Oil, oil oil,.it had always
been about the oil, it will always be about the oil.
As it happened, due to Bush's country bumpkin naivety, he left the Iraqi
borders open and rebels, mostly Saudis and fortune-seeking mercenaries,
flooded into Iraq. All the while, the Middle Eastern oil pirates clearly saw
Bush had liberated Iraq's oil, as well. They fully understood it was all up
for grabs. As a result, it is likely the oil pirates are funding the rebels
and mercenaries now fighting Bush in Iraq. Bush is not fighting 9-eleven
terrorists, nor London 7-seven terrorists, or even the terrorists that hit
Madrid Spain in March 2004. Bush is fighting fortune seekers financed
primarily by oil pirates, likely from Saudi Arabia, seeking the same thing
Bush is fighting for, control of the oil.
The whole war in Iraq is a sham. It is a battle to see who will outlast the
other. Up till now, Bush has duped the American public into believing the
Iraq war has been preventing terrorism at home. Of course, that has been
proven wrong by the 7-seven London bombings. Plainly, the Iraq war has
nothing to do with terrorism. It is a simple bloody fight between the Bush
dynasty and oil pirates. It is too bad Bush is in a position to waste the
fine lives of American troops to do his dirty work. To Bush the U.S. soldier
is a tool to use in war. Sending the guys into battle with tinker-toy body
armor is a clear sign Bush won't cross the street to help a soldier. Bush's
only interest is the oil, and the poor man or woman on the battlefield be
damned!
Beyond that, Bush has turned Iraq into a living hell for its people. Bush's
mismanagement is not only killing and wounding U.S. service people by the
thousand, but innocent Iraqis are dying as well. Regrettably, it is
America's responsibility to clean up after its wayward, tyrannical
president. America must mop up Iraq in a prudent manner. The smart money,
including Senator John McCain, says the U.S. needs significantly more troops
on the ground in Iraq to win the victory. Bush will not win the Iraq
conflict with only 138,000 troops. Foolishly, Bush reasons he will replace
U.S. troops with troops from the new Iraqi military. He explains that by
saying "as the Iraqis step up, America will step down." The question is how
many lives will Bush waste while waiting for the Iraqis to "step up"?
Last week our own military reported the Iraqi military is at least a year
from taking over Iraq's security needs. We can't wait for them. Bush has to
clean up the mess he has created. Bush need 600,000 troops on the ground in
Iraq to do the job. Bush has two options. He can either come before the
nation and explain he wrongfully started the fight in Iraq and now he needs
triple the volunteers to help mop up Iraq, or .he can start a draft. In
either case, Bush must admit fault and confess everything before Americans
will trust him. Sadly, that will never happen. Bush would rather murder
U.S. troops with worthless body armor than ever admit he was wrong. Too bad
Americans have to die to preserve Bush's megalomaniacal pride.
