NO MORE PRESIDENTIAL CHEERLEADERS |
~
With Hillary Clinton's announcement that she in the 2008 presidential
race, we should ask ourselves ~ "Do we really want another former high
school cheerleader, who worked on Barry Goldwater's 1964 presidential
campaign, in The White House?" Has not six years of George W. Bush
shown us that this type of individual is not what we need running the
country.

Her "Thighness"? Your joking! What is this about Bush NOT flying COmbat
planes blah, blah, blah e.t.c. When was she in the service? What has
she done to give her the vote to send troops to combat. I think she will
be squashed like a bug for long when daylight enters the brains of the left.

She's got problems with the Left, of course. And the Southern states will
all go for whatever weenie runs against her, should she run.
But her lack of military experience is not to be held against her. She's

Curt, you're talking to a brick wall. Scratch just can't understand the
concept that it's not the military service or lack there-of that is at issue
but rather, the reasons why and whether the person in question has been
honest. Bush, Cheney etc. are all gung-ho to send others off to die but
were unwilling to risk themselves or their careers. While others lost
opportunity, time, limbs and even their lives fighting in a war that Bush,
et.al., supported and even pushed, they were busy advancing their own
careers safe in the knowledge that they weren't ever going to be at risk.
In other words - they are hypocritical cowards. Hillary, however, never was
an advocate for the war and actually sought to end it and bring the troops
home. The chickenhawks just can never understand that because they are
convinced that "anyone stupid enough to not get out of the draft" deserves
whatever happens and it doesn't really matter anyway because unless you went
to Andover or similar, you're really not part of the proper class. Or in the
words of Barbara Bush - "all in all it's really working out well for them" -
in response to the devastation to people's lives experienced by those
evacuated from New Orleans to Houston.

Well, she's a big player in the Majority Democratic Party (geez, that feels
good just rolling off the fingertips) and probably is going to need to know
a lot of stuff. It would have been nice if a few of the weenies had thought
to do the same thing about four years ago.
I think she'll mostly let the pros handle the Actual Decision Making,

Better that than having Generals run the gubmint.
It's necessary for politicians to learn the language of the military.
It's also necessary for them to be Very skeptical thereafter.
Remember -- Dubya said he would listen to his generals about how to
conduct the Iraq War.
He has then serially dismissed the ones who told him things he didn't
want to hear.

for the fact that he had a slight bit of Paranoia. Reagan was a

It's a ridiculous comment really. Hillary Clinton has more than enough
brains to be a competent president. Whether you like her personality or
not is another issue, but she has proven herself time and again as
thoroughly competent politically and intellectually.

The fact of the matter is that the GOP has already conceded that she is both
qualified and capable to be President. Remember back to when Bill was first
running and was voted in? The chorus from the right was that he was a
figurehead and she was either the real President or a co-President. The
reality is that the right is terrified because they know that she can win
and that they've already lost the argument about whether or not she is
capable. Of course, given the absolute disaster that they've sponsored for
the last few years, they've got nothing to say in the matter anyway.

I'd be with you but it looks like the agents weren't really doing their
job.
They shot a guy in the back then tried to cover it up, after all.
Isn't that based largely on the testimony of the drug smuggler, though?
According to what I read, he didn't try to cover anything up; his
supervisors were already there, so there was no need to inform them. In any
case, it's a hell of a long prison sentence for something like that:
"Those shell casings Compean picked up were described to the jury as
destroying the crime scene and their failure to file an incident report -
punishable by a five-day suspension, according to Border Patrol
regulations - an attempted cover up."

What did the guy get for fleeing with 800 pounds of marijuana in his
vehicle? (Besides shot in the *****?)

Dunno. The jury and prosecutor didn't see it that way. And they didn't know
he was a smuggler when they shot him from behind.

A good laugh, his fifteen minutes of fame, and his share of the proceeds
from the sale of the MJ.

Nothing says "Y'all come back now" like taking the word of an illegal

are imprisoned for trying to stop him except ignoring the pleas of the
public and Congress to pardon the agents for doing their job.

There's a lesson here. If you shoot, shoot to kill and don't stop
shooting until the MF is confirmed dead. Reload if you have to.

Absolutely. If someone is threatening you, you put them down. Sure.
But when they're running away across the desert?
The holes will be in the back, you know.

Shove it in your ear gatt - it was every day people not much different from
you that sat on that jury and convicted those agents when they heard the
actual -facts- of the story instead of the propaganda you're purveying.
