In House Races, More G.O.P. Seats Seen at Risk

By ADAM NAGOURNEY
WASHINGTON --
At least five more Republican Congressional seats are now in serious
contention, analysts said Friday, an unwelcome development for
Republicans as they begin to confront a political environment further
darkened for them by the Congressional page scandal.
The fury over sexually charged messages sent to male teenage pages by
Representative Mark Foley of Florida is undercutting Republican
support among elderly voters, suburbanites and women, analysts from
both parties said.
More immediately -- and more alarmingly for Republican strategists who
have looked to the party’s powerful voter turnout operation to save
the party this year -- there are signs that the furor is sapping the
enthusiasm of a group essential to Republican victories in 2002 and
2004: religious conservatives.
"The social conservatives are frustrated with what’s going on," said
Saulius Anuzis, the chairman of the Republican Party in Michigan,
where, he said, one-third of his volunteers are social conservatives.
"We have heard disappointment and disenchantment. The level of
commitment isn’t as fierce as it ought to be."
The political uproar is playing out in races across the country and
comes with Republicans already struggling against the political weight
of more bad news from Iraq.
The page scandal has left leaders and candidates in both parties to
come up with new strategies a month from Election Day.

I believe the saying goes, "Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice,
shame on me."
But let's consider the real "fools," and foolers and deceivers, for
it's to laugh. Rush "Hillbilly Heroin Dr. Shopping" Limbaugh ,
Michael "The Brain Dead Cabbage, PhD" Savage, Peabody Award Winner,
Bill O'Really, Sean "The Sham " Hannity , and the lot are going into
something that we haven't seen for a long time from the lunatic fringe
of the conservative pro-Republican blither-blather of media chimps -
They are in a fitful stage of complete and utter PANIC. And what is
indicative of this is that certain conservative knuckle draggers such
as Newt "Mr. Family Values" Gingrich, and Dennis "I don't zee nothing,
I don't hear nothing" Hastert are looking for someone to blame (eg.
ABC, Soros, Clinton, bloggers, etc.). But what they do not realize
is not only that they brought this all upon themselves, but there is
this think called KARMA, in 'reaping what they have sown.'
Now they are whelping and whining about how this is all some vast
conspiracy and an orchestrated "October Surprise" staged by the
Democrats, namely Clinton. But we need to see if there is a "smoking
gun" somewhere, and not that of a "mushroom cloud" either, yet we'll
get to that soon enough. We do however initially need to look at the
Disney/ABC hit job and mockumentary "Path to 9/11," which was aired a
couple of weeks back and edited to omit certain falsehoods. Now who
in their RIGHT mind would go down that road 9/11again in this election
season? And to top it off BLAME someone for whom wasn't even on that
watch?
Then to take that person (Clinton) into the bowels of the Republican
propaganda apparatus (Fox News Network) and start playing with the
tail of a tiger, or tempting a tigershark with a bloody piece of
ribeye? You really can't make this s h i t up. Then to allow to
have your boy (Chris Wallace) santimoniously ***** slapped by a person
who is proficient in not only the grasp of the English language (which
"W" seems to have difficulty with) but in discourse and debate, is
incomprehensible. And for all intents and purposes, this established
a "Pearl Harbor" scenario for the GOP in what subsequently ensued.
First - The presumably contrived uprising of key Senators in their
opposition to the "Torture Bill" which Bush, who in acting like a brat
that wasn't going to get his way, threatened to veto and to scrap what
"LEGAL" national security measures are now currently in place - Then
the National Intelligence Estimate regarding the war in Iraq, which
was to begin with built on propaganda and in citation of the
aforementioned chimps in the preface of this composition, that paints
a not so rosey picture of the situation there in that it is breeding
more terrorism and that America is under a greater threat because of
it - Then KindaSleazy Rice knee-jerking herself from one lie to
another raising questions as to her "truthiness" in those months and
days leading up to 9/11 - And not to be out done Bob Woodward, who was
celebrated and applauded by the Bush administration for his two
previous books covering the war, comes out with a 3rd book which
justifiably and irrefutably slams Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld, and
questions the competence and sanity of those who started this F U B A
R of a war, blue printed by PNAC, and whom are now prosecuting it to
the peril of the American people and it's military, in this "New
Century," of terror and fear.
Last but not least, this snowballing scandal involving the disgraced
and resigned former Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL) - Please get this partisan
affiliation correct because even the Fox News Network can't, as
illustrated: http://tinyurl.com/zaajm.
The Republicans are clearly in not so much a "damage control" mode but
one fighting desperately for political survival. They "fooled" and
struck fear and into the hearts of American with their horrific imagry
of "mushroom clouds" and kept Americans in this constant state of
panic over terror, and it worked. It worked so well that George W.
Bush was able to retain his position as the Commander-and-Chimp, and
to continue a war that was not only unjustified, but that which is
draining valuable resources, funds and blood into a for-profit venture
to the benefit of the few - Not to mention the likes of Abramoff and
Delay whose own criminal behavior, and in the stead of this great
country's government whom they had "fooled most of them all of the
time."
Now this is without doubt a "turning point" in American history, as we
stand on the precipice of either "pulling back" and gathing our wits,
or diving head first down that cliff into a disaster (if we aren't in
it already) because since January of 2001 just under half of all
Americans have been "fooled," and it's to our collective shame that it
has come this far. But now it's time to address the problem with one
single instrument . . . One single RIGHT . . . One single ACT which
presumably some take for granted, and that is to vote. And as another
cited, "and then there is Diebold." For to continue with this
insanity, is a vote for the GOP this November.
But all is not lost for the leader of the Republicans, and for America
whose leader just so happens to be a moron, because in the words of
this (sic) leader, ". . . Fool me once ...Shame on ...Shame on you
.....Fool me...Can't get fooled again." - http://tinyurl.com/qpvgl -
Pete Townsend, eat your heart out.
George W. Bush had a great opportunity after 9/11 to unite America, if
not the world and to purge those responsible for this despicable act
of religious radical cowardice. Instead, being a religious radical
himself, he played into the these "fascists" and "extremist" with a
commensurate measure of his own. And it is for this we need to
question, not only the morality, but the Constitutionality and the
legality of such incompetence and negligence.
And now here we are, on this precipice . . . Will America continue to
accept this deception from a undisputably failed Presidency and (sic)
leadership and will it go back to sleep and like sheep into oblivion?
- Or do we change for a better future?
" . . . Instant Karma's gonna get you, Gonna knock you off your feet,
Better recognize your brothers, Ev'ryone you meet, Why in the world
are we here, Surely not to live in pain and fear, Why on earth are you
there, When you're ev'rywhere, Come and get your share . . ."

Bush and the NeoCons will never allow a Democratic Congress or Senate. It
just will not happen. Count on it. It won't be the first election that
they have stolen (if they even allow people to THINK that they are voting
in November).
