Minority columnists decry media treatment of victimized Whites.

It’s the hate complaint of the moment and the cause of renewed cries
of ‘victim-hood’ from many pro-Black columnists and other Black
advocates. Eugene Kane, writing for the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel,
sarcastically labels it “Missing White Women Syndrome.” Washington
Post writer Eugene Robinson sneeringly derides it as the saga of the
White “Damsel in Distress.” Roland S. Martin of the Black newspaper
Chicago Defender roughly writes of his contempt for a perceived media
obsession with missing White women, shaking his fist at White readers
as he writes “Got a problem with that?”
All three of these men are upset because the search for Natalee
Holloway—the latest in a long line of missing White women — has
received immense national attention. They can’t stomach seeing photos
of Natalee’s White skin, blonde hair, and all-American smile on their
televisions anymore, and they think high-ranking media bosses need to
be more sensitive to minorities and orchestrate a blackout of
Natalee’s story.
