Also... prophetic words from George Bush 1 (from his memoirs, 1998):
"We should not march into Baghdad, turning the whole Arab world against
us. Assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a securely
entrenched dictator and condemning them to fight in what would be an
unwinnable urban guerilla war, it could only plunge that part of the
world into ever greater instability."

Bush's words are hardly prophetic. It wasn't a "fruitless hunt" for
Saddam. We got Saddam.

If we are ever going to commit our forces, then we don't need to have
them act like politically correct pussies. We need to let them fight hard,
win quickly and leave.

That means that we need to let the Iraquis know what will happen if they
don't do what is necessary to stop the terrorists. Instead of fighting an
urban guerilla war, when a city is known to harbor terrorists, we need to
completely destroy the city, flattening everything, and then scattering the
remains throughtout the desert so that the city disappears from the face of
the earth.
