NY acts on global warming: dumps hybrid for EV |
The Empire State wants to convert as many of its fleet of
gasoline-electric hybrids to plug-ins as feasible and its offering $10
million to pay for it.
New York's $10 Million PHEV Quest

New York State is on a quest. It wants to reduce its dependence on oil
and help jumpstart the plug-in hybrid industry. The question isn't
really about whether or not the technology is ready. The critical
questions are whether or not $10 million dollars is enough to do the job
and is a mid-September 2006 deadline sufficient time for applicants to
apply?
Not everyone is convinced they are. EV World decided to ask the man
charged with the task of recruiting qualified applicants and vetting
their proposals.
