The American Civil Liberties Union has filed two friend-of-the-court
briefs supporting its lawsuit challenging the National Security
Agency's illegal domestic spying program. One brief was submitted on
behalf of prominent leaders of the nation's business community and the
other by leading civil rights organizations.
The signers of the civil rights friend-of-the-court brief:

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is a
non-profit membership corporation chartered by the State of New York
in 1909. The Nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization,
the NAACP has more than 500,000 members and 2,200 units in the United
States and overseas.
American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee is a civil rights
organization committed to defending the rights of people of Arab
descent and promoting their rich cultural heritage. ADC, which is
non-sectarian and non-partisan, is the largest Arab-American
grassroots civil rights organization in the United States. It was
founded in 1980 by former United States Senator James Abourezk; has 38
chapters nationwide, and members in all 50 States. ADC is at the
forefront in addressing discrimination and bias against Arab Americans
wherever it is practiced. ADC also serves as a reliable source for
information and education about the Arab and Muslim American
community. ADC is an active organizational member of the Leadership
Conference on Civil Rights.

Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund
The Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, founded in 1974,
is a non-profit organization based in New York City devoted to
defending the civil rights of Asian Americans. AALDEF is concerned
that the government’s reliance on vague and unchecked war powers is
the same purported basis that resulted in the unlawful internment of
Japanese Americans during World War II.

Japanese Americans Citizens League
The Japanese American Citizens League was founded in 1929. JACL is the
nation’s oldest and largest Asian American non-profit, non-partisan
organization committed to upholding the civil rights of Americans with
Japanese ancestry.

United for Peace and Justice
United for Peace and Justice, with more than 1,400 member groups, is
the nation’s largest antiwar coalition coordinating efforts in
opposition to the U.S. war on Iraq. Since October 2002 United for
Peace and Justice has supported hundreds of local protests and the
three largest against the war: at the U.N. in New York City on
February 15, 2003; on the eve of the Republican Convention on August
29, 2004; and in Washington D.C. on September 24, 2005.
Ronald Algrant
Ronald Algrant is the Senior Vice President of International Sales at

Michael Kieschnick
Michael Kieschnick is President, Chief Operating Officer, and a
co-founder of Working Assets Funding Service, Inc. Working Assets is a

million in annual revenue. International telephone service is one of
the many services that Working Services provides to its customers. Mr.
Kieschnick has written several books on capital markets and
development, most recently Credit Where It's Due (with Julia Parzen),
