THE FIRST LIE -- It was the intent of our founding fathers that there
would be a seperation of church and state...
To the Contrary, The Majority of Our Founding Fathers were Christians!
The phrase "Founding Fathers" is a proper noun. It refers to a very
specific group of people, the 55 delegates to the Constitutional
Convention. Yes, there were other important players, like Jefferson,
whose thinking deeply influenced the shape of our nation and who were
not in attendance, but the 55 Fathers make up the core .
The denominational affiliation of these men is a matter of public
record. Among the delegates were 28 Episcopalians, 8 Presbyterians, 7
Congregationalists, 2 Lutherans, 2 Dutch Reformed, 2 Methodists, 2
Roman Catholics, 1 unknown and only 3 deists--Williamson, Wilson and
Franklin, this at a time when church membership entailed a sworn public
confession of biblical faith.
This is a very revealing tally. It means that the members of the
Constitutional Convention, the most influential group of men shaping
the political foundations of our nation, were almost all Christians, 51
of 55--a full 93%. Indeed, nearly 20% were Calvinists (the
Presbyterians and the Dutch Reformed), considered by some to be the
most extreme and dogmatic form of Christianity.
Secondly, our Founding Fathers were Driven to Protect and Embrace
Christianity in Governance and in the Public Welfare of our Country
George Washington, the father of our country could not have stated
better from within his memoirs that,
As the contempt of the religion of a country by ridiculing any of its
ceremonies, OR affronting its ministers OR votaries, has ever been
deeply resented, you are to be particularly careful to restrain every
officer and soldier from such imprudence and folly, and to punish every
instance of it. On the other hand, as far as lies in your power; you
are to protect and support the free exercise of the religion of this
country, and the undisturbed enjoyment of the rights of conscience in
religious matters, with your utmost influence and authority.
Every man conducting himself as a good citizen, and being accountable
to God alone for his religious opinions, ought to be protected in
worshipping the Deity according to the dictates of his own conscience.
.. . If I could have entertained the slightest apprehension that the
Constitution framed in the Convention, where I had the honor to
preside, might possibly endanger the religious rights of any
ecclesiastical Society, certainly I would never have placed my
signature to it...
However, isn't that exactly what this nation did in 1949 when the
Supreme Court ruled when it stated that the "Walls for Separation
between Church and State needs to be High and Impregnable"? The
father of our country would not have signed the Constitution if he
thought it would "endanger the religious rights" of our citizens.
Yet, each day, those of faith within our country are being stripped
from the very fundamental rights of religious expression. The
"Separation of Church and State" ruling has set the precedent by
which the radical left has leveraged to suppress the church of
believers to the point that if disagreement to governmental opinion is
expressed within the church, they risk loosing their not-for-profit
status. Therefore, the church is faced with taking a position of
political correctness vs. biblical truths within their teachings. What
is noticeably absent within the church is any teaching regarding a
heated position that is biblically accurate but may be contrary to a
candidate or political position of authority.
This is a direction violation of our freedom of expression and speech,
of which the Constitution of the United States clearly defends. This is
unacceptable...
