Questions Conservatives won't answer. |
Mehlman (RNC Chairman) was interviewed by Wolf Blitzer. He cried that poor
Rove was being smeared and then proceeded to smear Wilson.
The Questions Mehlman (RNC Chairman) refused to answer tells the entire
story:
· "When you say the story was false, is there any evidence Niger was sending
uranium, enriched uranium to Iraq?"
· "Were you called before a grand jury?"
· "Why can't you tell us if you've been asked to testify?"
· "Do you believe Judy Miller should be sitting in jail right now?"
· "As far as you know, are other White House officials being investigated
right now as a potential source for this leak?"

Let me help
It was Saddam Hussein's information minister, Mohammed Saeed Sahhaf, often
referred to in the Western press as "Baghdad Bob," who approached an
official of the African nation of Niger in 1999 to discuss trade -- an
overture the official saw as a possible effort to buy uranium
Tenet's statement noted that Wilson had reported back to the CIA that a
former Niger official told him that "in June 1999 a businessman approached
him and insisted that the former official meet with an Iraqi delegation to
discuss 'expanding commercial relations' between Iraq and Niger. The former
official interpreted the overture as an attempt to discuss uranium sales."
In his book, Wilson recounts his encounter with the unnamed Niger official
in 2002, saying, he "hesitated and looked up to the sky as if plumbing the
depths of his memory, then offered that perhaps the Iraqi might have wanted
to talk about uranium.

Please highlight in your post the words "sending, sent, delivered, mailed,
FedExed or UPSed" uranium to Iraq.

So in summary:
Question: Is there any evidence that Niger was SENDING uranium to
Iraq?
Answers: There was an overture into possible discussions about
uranium sales. Perhaps the Iraqi might have wanted to talk about
uranium.
Conclusion: No, there was no evidence of Niger sending uranium to
Iraq.
