Political analysts, journalists, and scholars are carefully tracking
poll numbers and evaluating policy proposals in an attempt to predict
the outcome of this year's American presidential election.

But a team of British researchers using a less conventional approach
is betting on John Kerry, because he has more blood ties to European
royalty than President George Bush.

Experts at Burke's Peerage, which researches British aristocracy, say
John Kerry has blue blood connections through his mother to all the
royal houses of Europe, including England, Norway, Sweden, Denmark,
Russia, France, and Albania.

Mr. Bush is related to England's Queen Elizabeth and many European
princes.

The Burke's Peerage researchers say in previous U.S. presidential
elections, the candidate with the most royal ties has always defeated
his opponent.

But I thought President Bush was a direct successor to the Roman Caesars?
