I live in the Bay Area and for such a loony region, everyone wants to
live here so housing prices are the highest in the nation. Nobody

No you're right...but there is Texas, Az, Washington, Oregon, and a bunch
more. Also there are tons of other places to live in CA alone....try Napa
for one...
