The so-called "AIDS lobby" will never be happy until all other diseases and
health afflictions are ignored in favor of their own pet affliction, and
until we have a massive socialized medicine bureaucracy imposed on us to pay
for medical care for a disease that is for the most part propagated by
reckless, irresponsible behavior that is beyond the control of anyone in the

Hee hee, I've been saying the same thing for years and I happen to be gay
and I just moved to California. Even devoting 100% of all government
resources to HIV (including the budget for highways, sewers, schools, and
every other government service) still won't satisfy them. They want a
cure and they want it NOW, nevermind that even the most advanced science
can't provide it any price, the government apparently has a magic wand it
can wave to produce any desired result and the reason it hasn't waved it
is due to homophobic imperialist colonialist sexist racism.
BTW, I don't have HIV, because I have half an IQ point and listened to
the billions of dollars of propaganda regarding how HIV is transmitted.
And I pay attention to pop culture and politics, and saw how they
demonized Ronald Reagan for not waving his magic wand for an instant
cure, yet Bill Clinton also did not invent a cure and he is their
patron saint. Interestingly, the nearly-magical "cocktail" treatments
that have pretty much stopped HIV from progressing into AIDS were
introduced around late-1994, meaning that their development occurred
during the Bush I administration, yet St. Bill gets the credit for it.
And to rant and rave as briefly as possible, if I were Supreme Dictator
of Earth my first act would be to forcibly test every person on the
planet and incinerate everyone with HIV. It makes no sense to just
throw a million dollars a year on each HIV patient just to prolong his
life for decades during which he infects hundreds to thousands of new
victims. Treat them, but do not allow them to compound the problem
and put them all in quarantine camps surrounded by electrified barbed
wire and land mines. This is what Cuba does, the socialist workers'
paradise the leftists often express admiration for.
