· America has the fastest-growing economy of any major industrialized nation
in the world.
· The economy has posted steady job gains for each of the last fifteen
months - creating over 2.4 million jobs since August 2003.
· The unemployment rate dropped from a peak of 6.3% last June to 5.4%
today-below the average unemployment rate of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.
· After-tax income is up by over 10% since the end of 2000, and household
wealth is at an all-time high.
· Inflation, interest rates, and mortgage rates remain at low levels.
· Homeownership rates are at record highs.
· The stock market has grown rapidly since the beginning of 2003, with the
Dow Jones Industrial Average up 25% and the NASDAQ up 56%.

· America has the fastest-growing economy of any major industrialized

nation

in the world.

· The economy has posted steady job gains for each of the last fifteen
months - creating over 2.4 million jobs since August 2003.

Yet according to the BEA a smaller percentage of Americans have a job today
than did 4 years ago.

· The unemployment rate dropped from a peak of 6.3% last June to 5.4%
today-below the average unemployment rate of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.

Strange. A smaller percentage of Americans have a job today than 4 yerars
ago?? COuld it be that huge numbers of people ahve been moved off of the
laboer force, and the new counting of non-payroll jobs (e-bay, Mary Kay,
Tupperware etc.) is making the numbers look better??

· After-tax income is up by over 10% since the end of 2000, and household
wealth is at an all-time high.

Yet the average family income, adjusted for inflation, is down over 4 years
ago.

· Inflation, interest rates, and mortgage rates remain at low levels.

Inflation rates are on their way up. The benchamrk 90 day t-bill, for
example, has doubled its interest rate in a month.

· Homeownership rates are at record highs.

Average home value is plummeting, down 12%.

· The stock market has grown rapidly since the beginning of 2003, with the
Dow Jones Industrial Average up 25% and the NASDAQ up 56%.

It is still below where it was 4 years ago - unadjusted for inflation.

But that doesn't mean much, because children under the age of 14 not having
jobs means little, nor does people over the age of 75 not having a job
doesn't mean much. The critical percentage is what percentage of the
POTENTIAL work force ACTUALLY has a job. For THAT percentage we look to
the Unemployment Rate, which is now lower than what it was during the
Clinton Administration.

That is NOT a lie! Here's the link to Yahoo for a 2-year chart (i.e., since
the beginning of 2003 as he stated) of the Dow. As you can *clearly* see,
the person you are calling a liar in fact told the truth! The second is the
NASDAQ 100 for the same period.

If you go to Yahoo or any other
place that shows a graph of the market you will see that it has been FLAT
since Bush took office (with local downs and ups).

What happened was a CRASH in March 2000, under Billy-Bob's reign. Which
started a long downslide until 2003. Since then, the Dow has recovered
nearly to the point it was before the crash. As anyone who watches the
market knows, the "broad market" as represented by the S&P and NASDAQ are
always last to catch up. The fact that under GWB it has managed to return to
that point so (relatively) quickly is a tribute to his economic policies.

The man has pumped
BILLIONS of borrowed money into the economy (same trick Ronnie used) and

Another way of saying this is he managed to rebound from the double whammy
of the March 2000 crash and the Sept. 2001 terrorist attacks, either of
which (alone) could have sent us into another Depression, but didn't. I call
that a success! If you don't think the Crash of 2000 was that severe then
you need to take a closer look at the figures. The NASDAQ fell 70% from it's
high, the S&P nearly 40%.

You haven;t paid attention to this post nor to my reply to you.
You are comparintg numbers to the depth of the Bush eceonmic doldrums, when
the eccnomy was going _down_. Compare your numbers to 4 years ago, when the
economy was in an upswing. Today's numbers _stink_ when compared to teh end
of the Clinton administration.
Again, when compared to 4 years ago the Dow and NASDAQ are down,
unemployment is up, a smaller percentage of Americans are working, wages
are down when adjusted for inflation, and a whole host of other stats are
unfavorable.
To put it another way, this "surging economy" of yours has not recovered
what was lost in the first two years of the Bush administration. This is
_not_ a common effect --- most recoveries are faster and higher, taking
_less_ than two years to regain losses.

Yes it is. You just can't accept it. Just like the Democrat Party can't
accept the fact that the Democrats were REJECTED by the voters.
Today has blown up in the sick Democrat Party's face.

It is when you selectively pick statistics. Why not make all your
comparisons 4 years back to the beginning of Bush's 1st term of
office. It would show net job losses and both the Dow and NASDAQ down.
