Actually, the unemployment rate got down to 3.8% in some areas. Too
bad those percentages were an aberation due to the dot bomb era. The
days of laughable companies like Toys.com and DrKoop.com hiring every
warm body they can get their hands on are gone for good. Sorry.

A 5.6% rate is actually very good. As little as a decade ago, most
economists thought unemployment would never drop below 6% in a normal
economy. The only reason the rate stayed the same after the latest
gangbuster jobs report is that discouraged workers who dropped out of
the job search are beginning to look again now that prospects are
looking up in the job market.

Uh, the really important jobs (e.g. technology, medicine,
pharmaceuticals) are being stripped away from this country. We are
actually developing systems now that will alleviate the burden from
primary care physicians (i.e. lay them off by allowing offshore
doctors to diagnose simpler ailments). You think America can survive
on homebuilder and plumbers? The Chinese and Indians are going to be
more powerful than us militarily in 20-25 years at this pace, since
they'll have all the know-how to develop the latest and greatest
weapons.

With Jimmy Carter, Democrat, we got an Unemployment Rate of around 10%.
With George Bush, Republican, we get an Unemployment Rate of less than 6%.
You do the math.

choosing a momentary figure, cherry-picking

With George Bush, Republican, we get an Unemployment Rate of less than 6%.

Compared to an average figure.
A classic statisitical con

You do the math.

Ok, Bush has borrowed almost half a trillion dollars a year, and we
also borrow that much or more in the form of our trade deficit. The
fed is giving away money for free (one precent annual interest rate
charged to banks for borrowing money).
Oil during Carter constituted twice as much of our economic costs as
it does now, and was twice as expensive, controlling for inflation. So
it's the equivalent of 8 dollars a gallon for gas.
Yet even borrowing about eight percent of GDP, even with money for
free, even with energy costs one fourth those Carter faced
Bush still has managed to drive people away from work, so that there
are fewer working now than when he got here.
While during Carter we steadily created many new jobs.
Bush - worst job growth in 72 years
EVEN though he is bankrupting our children to try to prop up his
reeleciton. No spending bill is to be left behind, because it might
have a voter attached to it.
Un fucking believable, how bad this guy Bush is.

I am better off with Bush, to answer the question.

Better yet, a typical conservative
"As long as everyone else is screwed but me, it's all good"
Sort of like how Homer Simpson thinks.
Or a little like Rush L.:
"When I succeed after utilizing the help of some government prorgram
(unemployment benefits), I will denounced the program for all others
who follow"
A little like when Homer Simpson raced out of the nuclear power plant
during a fire drill, then propped a chair on the doorknob so noone
else could exit.
Hard core conservatives look more and more like Homer everyday. They
even get more uneducated, lazier, and fatter as Homer has through the
years.
