Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has consistently rejected any
contention that the Army is stretched too thin in fighting
simultaneous wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
And he is obviously correct. Only a small portion of the US military
are involved in any conflict. We aren't even trying very hard and are
winning quite handily.

There was no "first couple of months" of the war, the war only lasted 3
weeks.
