The villagers were given scripts to read by the communist minder who
accompanied the ABC News crew.

ABC and the Kerry campaign mentioned how the week before a Swift Boat
Vet had visited the village. No one remembered the man's name. This
is a few minutes after Koppel told everyone how tough it was for ABC
News to get the communist government of Vietnam to let ABC News in the
country to do this story (for the Kerry campaign.) Some old Swift
Boat vet with no name waltzes into communist Vietnam but ABC
News/Disney/Kerry Campaign had a tough time getting in.

The story was a pathetic joke. Koppel is as bad a Dan Rather.
