Bush's version of the Bill tells us:
1. We have no evidence that was obtained legally
2. We have no evidence that would withstand cross-examination.
3. Our people don't know how to do basic investigation, so
we have to resort to torture.
4. We don't take the Constitution seriously.
5. We don't believe in basic human rights.
6. We believe suspicion equals guilt.
7. International law means nothing in America.
Welcome to the Orwellian state headed by Big Brother Bush. Orwell wrote
a parody on Stalinist regime in his "1984", Bush has mistaken that parody
for a blueprint.
How I read Orwell's warning to the human race in his "1984" is that he
deeply understood the evil essence of the human being, and predicted that
those evil forces inside the human mind will inevitably create a hell on
Earth. Based on my own studies of History and Psychology, I believe in his
ingenious Prophecy. I only hope to be dead before this ultimate evil, now
being created and spread by the Bush administration, takes over the entire
planet.

Orwell undoubtedly created a nightmare vision. Granted, the Bush
administration is getting *very* cozy with the old Soviet attitudes
towards dissent, privacy, information control, voting, citizens rights,
militarism and our obligations regarding signed treaties. Whether it
will ever get THAT bad remains to be seen. However, the idea of some
fat, deranged, militaristic old ***** standing on a platform high above
the streets of New York saluting as missiles and lockstepping troops go
by on the streets below looks a lot more Conservative Republican to me
than Commie Lib. I can't see Clinton or Carter up there, even though
liberal Democrats are always tarred with the 'Communist' label. I can
see a dozen different Chickenhawk Republicans up there though, their
shaky old hands saluting and casting shadows over their unibrows...
