Bush certainly wants you to think so.
Nope. In fact, President Bush has never said that.
But even the direst projections don't
support his assertion. Yes, by mid-century, the system may no longer be
able to
entirely meet its currently forecast obligations -- technically, I guess,
you
could call that bankrupt -- but it would still have a lot of money to
dispense.
THAT is what President Bush has said.
So now YOU have just made a fool of yourself, "Dan".

And he's correct - Social Security will NOT be able to meet its claimed
payout schedule by 2045.
