This is an interesting article about supporting our troops in Iraq.
The author raises an interesting how. The troops maybe anti-troop.
I'm sorry. I didn't mean that last statement to sound anti-troops.

I Wonder What Kind Of Message I'm Sending To The Troops
By Jane Merrick
I read in the paper that a lot of the troops are complaining about the
war, and want to come home. They're putting their lives on the line.
It's my duty to support them, but I get confused. What message am I
sending the troops if I read articles like that? For that matter, what
kind of a message are those troops sending themselves? They are the
troops, but it almost sounds like they're not supporting the troops!
When this Administration and its obedient media are urging you to "support
the troops" what they are actually urging you to do is to support their
criminal policies of aggression around the world. The more our
simple-minded folks in the middle America will be supporting their policies,
the more of their boys the criminal Administration will be able to turn into
gun fodder and then just use them as private security guards to first seize
and then to guard feeding grounds for big corporations. Big corporations
like it when you are "supporting the troops" = supporting the policies of
turning your boys into mercenary armies paid totally by the American
tax-payer. They, the corporations, are getting record profits without the
overhead of keeping huge security staff, without having to arm that staff,
without having to ship that staff across the world, without having to pay
that security staff any benefits, or insurance, without paying anything to
ship back home coffins with the bodies of killed security guards, without
facing the widows of those killed guards, without paying for subsequent
treatment of the wounded security guards. Why? - Everything will be paid by
taxes which will be collected from your children and grandchildren. In the
meantime the President will just issue more bonds to pay for those "private
security guards" (formerly known as US armed forces), sell those bonds to
the Asians and you will only pay the interest on those bonds. Since
September of last year the Bush Administration has been borrowing on average
$2.1 billion per day (http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/) thus adding to the
already huge National Debt and all this is due to your "patriotic" support
of our troops (i.e. unquestioned support of Bush policies). It will be the
unpleasant job of future Administrations to try to collect your taxes in
order to try to start repaying the principal of that National Debt while
continuing to pay the interest on it and while trying to finance tomorrows
urgent needs of the country. How much do we already pay in interest thanks
to your "support of the troops"? - $352 Billion in Fiscal Year 2005 alone!!!
Compare that with just $61 Billion spent on education!
See how much your "support of the troops" already costs? - And these are
just interest payments. President Bush wants to go into history as the
"generous President," so he doesn't want to burden you with more taxes to
pay for your kids serving as private security guards in Iraq, then in Iran,
then wherever else corporate appetites will take our troops - the "bad"
Democrats' Administrations will have to do that!
In other words, just keep supporting "the troops"!
