Bush has made the world less safe, not more so, given the rising tide of

I'm not convinced. The world seems to be going along like everything is
just hunky dory.
Okay, I'll grant you that anti-American sentiment in the Arab world is
at its peak. But is there any serious opposition to be found? Is the
United States government being formally denounced on a daily basis in
the UN? Are the American diplomats still welcome in the UN or other
international forums? Are American tourists and businesspeople still
permitted to enter the borders of these countries that supposedly are
opposed to the actions of the US? Have any countries that are allies of
the United States threatened to dissolve their relationships with the
US? Has there been any effort to muster a military force to oppose the
US-led coalition in Iraq? Have these nations ceased importing and
exporting goods and services from and to the US?
Basically, as long as the answers to these questions is "no", there
might be widespread popular dissent against the US, but there is a world
of difference between popular dissent and true opposition. The most
important players have either joined in support of the US, or else take
a stand of neutrality. But nobody important has actually taken any
action against the US that could reasonably be interpreted as
"opposition."
The Saudis could end this Iraq thing today, with 5 words: Leave or the
oil stops.
Everyone realizes the damage but no one will say it. Kerry and the
other dems should be screaming that thanks to bush, america will never
get support from another nation again.
