Of what value is sanctions against a country? They do not seem to have
any effect on the leaders/rulers of a country. However; they seem to
make life worse for the people of the sanctioned country . Has there
been a case where the people have over thrown a government because of
sanctions?
Speaking of which, President Bush recently got rid of the steel sanctions
which the Democrats had put in place against various countries. You should
have heard the howls of protest from the greedy union members in America
when Bush decided to drop those sanctions, however!

Do you mean Bush's steel tariffs (as opposed to sanctions)? They were
imposed by Bush, not the Democrats:

So-called "conservative" Bush meddles with the free market.
