I get it. Bush scratches Exxon's back, so Exxon scratch's Bush's back
by reducing gas prices for the election, then will crank them back up
again after the election. The public is getting skeptical so just
yanking them down for a month is not sufficient any more.
Another weak-minded lib who would like to pay MORE for
gasoline.
If you could think beyond your moment of immediate gratification, you
would see that an increase in gas taxes would have led to more energy
efficient automobiles, a release of the death grip the Middle east has
on us, a better environment and new technology (which leads to new
businesses and a better economy). The problem now is that taxes should
have been increasing slowly over the last 3 decades as Nixon, Ford and
Carter had planned. Reagan trashed that, then delivered us hogtied and
belly up to Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Middle East. Thank you
Ronald Reagan for our world today!

Oh, so you want to pay MORE taxes. I'll tell ya what. Just
donate all your money to the IRS.

Jim, is this your new hobby - pretending people said things which they
did not? I am sort of surprised that even someone as simple minded as
you is happy about being controlled by countries like Iran, rather than
being energy independent.

Perhaps you missed where he preferred an INCREASE in gas
taxes. Are you blind?

Sorry, we can't become enery independent, because we might
disturb the last living inch worm or some such creature.
BTW, you never answered my question. How do you decide which
alias to use when you post?

We will never become independent because it would hurt the oil industry. If
we had spent the trillion dollars that Bush spent in Iraq to find an
alternative energy source - we would already be independent, but that would
hurt Bush's oil buddies....

Good point, we should be in a "Manhattan Project" right now with the
goal of being off oil in 3 years.
