Yes, that's right, COLD. There has been
snow this winter. Explain that you enviro-kooks.
Everybody knows that global warming happens only
in the summer. What are the eco-terrorists trying to
put over on us? Do they think we are Stupid?
Who wants to get rid of CO2? If we did that,
what about the bubbles in my coke? Never thought
of that, did you, you kooky, enviro, tree-hugging,
save the chickens, kiss the lizards, Bush hating idjuts.
We need more pollution, not less. Jobs depend on it.
If they couldn't pollute in India and China, how could
we get them to work so cheap? Didn't think of that,
did you, you eco-lizard humping, owl-loving, tree-kissing,
bastards.
We NEED more pollution. Do you realize there are a
few spots in the USA where the air and the water are
not yet polluted? How fair is that? Let's leave no
wilderness behind. Pave every one of 'em, and give 'em
each ten smoke stacks. We can do it if we try.
Otherwise, I'll have to wear a coat in the winter,
and that's just a big old pain in the *****, you know?
Let the smoke and the arsenic fly. It's a small price
to pay for this growing economy. Hell, if we tried
to stop pollution, we'd have to hire guys to make
machines and stuff to clean the air and the water.
How clever would that be? I'd still have to wear
a coat in the winter, wouldn't I?
Anyway, I'm not waiting for the government to
do something about it. I keep a can of coke on
the end of my car's exhaust pipe, just to be sure
I get enough CO2. Can't trust the government
to do that.
You sound like you need a friend. Al Gore would LIKE to be your friend!

Global warming is just a THEORY and a bad one at that. It seems to get
worse when a republican is in the White House running for re-election.
Strange theory.

Theory Smeory, just consider the facts:
1)
The glacier on Mt. Kilimanjaro is melting and will be gone within 10 years.
2)
Alaska is warming up and the permafrost is not any more. (It's getting
harder to drill for oil, for example.)
3)
The average global temperature is rising.

I know, I know, science is tough, but who you gonna trust, Bush, who
doesn't even know calculus, let alone much science, and who's quoted
as saying:
"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the
impurities in our air and water that are doing it."
- Governor George W. Bush
or, are you going to trust the scientists, who have studied the stuff
their whole life, and btw, have no political agenda?
---
My money is on the scientists, and not Bush.

And the Northeast just suffered record cold. Oh wait, I forgot - the
"global warming" theorists tell us that *regional* temps don't tell us
anything about *global temps*.
Whoops, there goes your "Mt. Kilimangjaro is melting"! That's regional
stuff.
2)
Alaska is warming up and the permafrost is not any more. (It's getting

3)
The average global temperature is rising.
Where's the evidence of that??
Oh wait, I forgot - the "global warming" theorists like to use *regional*
stuff like Mt. Kilimanjaro and the State of Alaska to "prove" the "average
global temperature is rising".
But never mind about the record cold for the entire Northeast - that's only
regional stuff.

Theory Smeory, just consider the facts:
1)
The glacier on Mt. Kilimanjaro is melting and will be gone within 10
years.
And the Northeast just suffered record cold. Oh wait, I forgot - the
"global warming" theorists tell us that *regional* temps don't tell us
anything about *global temps*.
Whoops, there goes your "Mt. Kilimangjaro is melting"! That's regional
stuff.
You're comparing a single winter to something that has been going on for
years, but you're correct in saying that just one data point doesn't make
a trend. However, the growing seasons have gotten longer all over the
northern high latitudes, almost EVERY glacier in the world has either
shrunk or disappeared the last two decades, the north polar sea ice has
retreated in extent and thickness to an unprecedented degree, bird
migrations are earlier in the spring and later in the summer and
2)
Alaska is warming up and the permafrost is not any more. (It's getting
harder to drill for oil, for example.)
not to mention that antarctic ice shelves are shrinking and calving off
chunks the size of whole states. The fact that the world's climate has
changed over the last few decades is undeniable, except by those such as
yourselves who are willing to either ignore literal mountains of
evidence to convince themselves and others that what we are seeing cannot
be true. Tighten those blinders, fella.

Seeing that we have been in an ice age for the last 2 million years
and are currently between cyclic ice advances why are you suprised
that it's getting warmer. There is really only two things the climate
can do. One thing the climate doesn't do is stay constant.

You're confusing the mathematical concepts of 'average' and 'instantaneous'.
It's the 'average' value that's rising. It's the 'average' value that

A billion years won't do you any good.
Humanoid life has only been on earth 10k to 100k years in one form or
another. What makes you think we can survive in environments where we
didn't evolve? You have no proof whatsoever, and offer only conjecture.
So, why mess with mother nature? Especially if you over do it and
humanoids become extinct?

The figures are the same for the last 65 million years which includes
all of the Cenozoic, the current geological era. The current ice age
only started around 2 million years ago so perminant ice on earth is a
fairly recient event.

A mear 50,000 years ago, during the previous interglacial period, The
global ice caps were 20% - 30% less then today with sea levels 65 feet
higher. What makes you believe that this interglacial will be cooler?

My money is on the scientists, and not Bush.
Do you mean average temperature of Earth's surface or Earth's
atmosphere? There is a wide discrepancy between those two (which can
be attributed, according to some scientists, to a skewed measurement
of Earth's surface temperature due to large coverage by asphalt and
concrete).
Also, according to some scientists, there is very good correlation
between Sun activity and "Climate change".
There is also a study that shows that Earth is warming for last
5000 years (according to some, due to "invention" of domesticated
animals)
Are you also aware that we are long overdue for a flip of magnetic
field, which is increasingly unstable?

You got your facts wrong (again), as period between flips is about
100,000 years. Correlation between Sun activity and Earth's atmosphere
temperature is closely related to Earth's magnetic field. Ozone layer
is also closely related to Earth's magnetic field....

Moron,
The last flip was 780 thousand years ago.
On average, it does flip every 100 thousand years.
Recent instability though, points to a flip coming within the next
several hundred years.

If it flips every 100,000 years on average how it can "last about a
thousand years" as you stated in your previous post?
In any case, now that we established that there IS a problem with
Earth's magnetic field, do you think we can somehow fit importance of
Ozone layer (as what that layer DOES) , Sun activity and Earth's

The 100,000 year interval is the time between flips. A flip is when the
N pole becomes the S pole. Geologic records show a flip can happen quite
quickly, over several thousand years.
Think of it as a magnet sitting on a desk. Along comes someone every
100,000 years, and switches heads to tails, but takes 1000 years to do it.
During the flip, there's no magnetosphere, therefore no protection
against radiation striking the earch. So, humans will mutate at a more
rapid rate, and cancers will increase.

Geological survey of some volcano eruptions show changes in magnetic
orientation of flowing magma can happen literally overnight.
Ozone Layer Burned by Cosmic Rays:
"Cosmic rays may be enlarging the hole in the ozone layer, according
to a study appearing in the 13 August print issue of PRL. Researchers
analyzed data from several sources, and found a strong correlation
between cosmic ray intensity and ozone depletion. "

Now, if Earth's magnetic field is unstable, fluctuating and
weakening in some places, how will that reflect on Cosmic rays?
Should we go on onto Sun activity cycles next?

Incorrect. Global warming is not "just a theory." It's an observation,

Would YOU like Al Gore to be your friend? Al Gore is a very nice man! He

Would you like that? Would you LIKE Al Gore to be your friend and to help
