Whites are NOT a minority group, everyone knows that. Except here in
California, the most diverse State in the country, I'm proud to say,
ours is the only State in America where Whites are not the majority.
This also goes a long way to explain why Repugs hate our State so much,
this hostility is especially evident with the tone of some of the guys
on this thread. Absolutely amazing!
Incidentally, on a related note, if you look at all the members of our
Congress and our Senate, among Democrats, you find a very good cross
section of America, Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Christians,
non-Christians, men, women, e.t.c. A very good cross-section. But if
you look at the Republican members of Congress, you find it filled with
only rich White Christian males. That's right. Among the Republicans
in the Congress and Senate, there is not even one African-American among
them. Not even one!
Among Democrats, you find diversity, and a good cross section of America
represented in there. Among Republicans, you find nothing but rich
white Christian males.
The one and only Republican African American member of Congress, James
Watt of Oklahoma, he recently resigned because he was mistreated by his
colleagues. Kind a reminds me of Colin Powell, he's made it amply clear
that he too will resign at the end of Bush's term. The Neocons have
been cutting him off at the knees every step of the way, no wonder he's
had it.
My God! Look at all the hostility among Repugs, just on this thread, it
explains everything.

California has a very high sales tax, as well as a very high
state income tax, and they have invented new taxes on just about
everything else, too. Government has grown, and businesses
are leaving the state of California. The public education system
use to be THE best in the world, now it too has started down
hill.
It is not unlike the tragedy of the commons. California had
so much to give in the 1960s, and all the losers of not just
the U.S., but of the world went there to suckle on California's
tit. They have sucked the state dry. The urge for the
neo-Californians to vote themselves a free ride was highlighted
by the California Energy crisis, when the people of California
put a price cap on how much electricity could cost, and then
they drove SCE and PG&E bankrupt. This drove the cost so high
it bit them in the *****. Another failed socialist/welfarstate/
liberal policy.
I miss the California of the 1960s, and it could even had
been made better... The higher education system was great;
but I saw the problems. There were people that would come
from other states, establish one year of residency, and
then partake of the California taxpayer's largess and go
to college as a resident. Then they would leave.
Heck, we even allowed illegal aliens, but not legal immigrants,
attend the UC and CSU systems as residents. That was insane.

Yes. Those who vote themselves someone else's money are
Democrats, those are having their money voted out of their

whites in the minority. As a white male, I was in the minority when I lived
there in the 1960s, and I was in the minority when I returned there this
year (BTW, the state has been trashed by your liberal Democrats who have
been guarding the henhouse there since Statehood. For example, the state has
the worst "ice" epidemic in America, thanks to liberal judges who refuse to
allow the same drug interdiction tactics that have been APPROVED by judges
in most other states).
According to the 2000 Census, Hawai'i's ethnic breakdown is:
Total population: 1,211,537
Of that number, 294,102 people were white
503,868 people were Asian
113,539 people were "Native Hawai'ian"
And the remainder were either Hispanic (just over 87,000), black (just over
22,000), or some other race.
