The Illinois Republican Party doesn't really want Alan Keyes
as their senate candidate. But, he will be useful in attacking
Obama Baraka. And in the process he will discredit them both.
Same thing is true with Kerry. The Democrat Party doesn't actually want
John Forbes Kerry as their presidential candidate. But he will be a useful
placeholder to ensure that Hillary Rodham Rodham can run for office in 2008.
And in the process, Kerry is discrediting both himself and his Democrat
Party.
The potential senate race between two black men - historic
though it may be - will be nothing but an absolute media circus.
Why do you attempt to portray black people as circus clowns, Mr. Democrat??
Keyes' bombastic over-the-top debating style will ensure that.
I bet you said the same thing about Zizzy Jackson and Albert Sharpton, right
Mr. Democrat?
Not!
Furthermore, Keyes has 0% chance of being elected if he runs.
Same is true for Kerry, of course.

Usually when an incumbent polls the lousy kind of numbers
Bush does so close to an election. They ultimately lose.
Similarly, when a presidential candidate polls a NEGATIVE bounce from his
own convention speech (as Kerry did) they ultimately lose.

But Kerry got a positive bounce, albeit a small one. He also got a
positive bounce from his selection of Edwards. Usually, they occur at
the same time. It was about a 3 point bounce from the convention, and
I believe a 6 point bounce from Edwards, that makes 9 points. That's
not bad considering that they say only 20% of the electorate is up for
grabs.

Intelligence wasn't always a hindrance to holding public office in Illinois.
Remember when Adlai Stevenson was a Democrat from Illinois?
Just shows you how low Democrat expectations have gone in that state.
