The Middle East "road map" is turning into the kind of initiative that
gives international diplomacy a bad name, as the Bush administration,

International diplomacy (is there another kind?) has
not had a good name since Bismarck finessed Napoleon
III into a war he did not want and for which he was not
prepared, just to frighten a couple of reluctant Counts
to join the Prussian Reich way back in the middle of
the 19th century.
However Israel has always been a roadblock on Islam's
path to Imperial glory and the return of the Khalifa.
