John Kerry fought in Vietnam were he was awarded two Silver Stars, one
Bronze Star with V, and three Purple Hearts.
Bob Dole fought in a war also.
BTW, Bob Dole lost his bid for the presidency. The parallel to John Kerry
is striking.
George Bush applied for entry into the Texas Air National Guard 12 days
before his student deferment expired.
Is that a crime? Is service to your country in the National Guard somehow
less honorable than serving in the Navy or the Army where you are more apt
to get to shoot at people and kill them?
He was admitted the day he applied,
in spite of a waiting list of several thousand.
Prove it.

Bob Dole takes a ***** every morning and so do I.
I've never lost a run for the presidency and was never a Senator.
What is your point?

I wonder if Bush ever has nightmares about the poor guy who got bumped out
of the line for National Guard slots? Do you think he ever considers that
the poor guy might have wound up splattered all over some rice paddy? All
because George W. Bush cut into line in front of him? You know, getting to
cut into the front of the National Guard line back then wasn't just like
cutting into a supermarket checkout line - it could literally mean life or
death.

Please stop discrediting Bush's service in the National Guard. He played an
important role in protecting Texas and Alabama against Viet Cong insurgents.

Hey. You may think you're joking, but there are one or two on this
group who have more or less seriously claimed just that.
For example, the person Ian S was responding to, Kaptain Ketchup, who
goes by multiple names (often pretending to be several mutually
supportive people in the same thread) and recognisable as posting from
Comcast IP address 24.91.21.35, said this:
Message-ID: <MFwQb.109294$Rc4.770329@attbi_s54>
"Bush IS the hero between the two. Bush fought Muslim terrorists.
Kerry did not. Bush captured Osama bin Laden. Kerry did not. Bush
flew fighter jets. Kerry did not."
See? This guy was not joking either (and he meant Saddam not Osama)
I think this same guy was the one who tried to deny that Kerry even
qualifies as a Vietnam Vet because he was in the Navy, not the Army,
and he served in a Boat and "therefore" didn't kill people on the
ground or something like that.... *Someone* tried to make that point
anyway.
I think Kerry is the ultimate cynical exploitative slimy politician,
but he's still better than Bush, and seeing this 24.91.21.35 guy go
more and more crazy about Kerry every day just makes it all the more
likely I'll vote for him.
