BODY: Gun control has not worked in Canada. Since the new
gun registration program started in 1998, the U.S. homicide
rate has fallen, but the Canadian rate has increased.
John Lott cherry picks and lies again.
Homicide rate, Canada:
1997-1.92
1998-1.84
1999-1.76
2000-1.77
2001-1.78
2002-1.85
This is what else Lott fails to tell you:
Contributing to the increase in British Columbia were 15
homicides of missing women that occurred in previous years in
Port Coquitlam and that were reported by police in 2002.
Just over one-quarter (26%) of homicides were committed with
a firearm last year, the lowest proportion since statistics
were first collected in 1961.
Totally irrelevent to this discussion. The NUMBER of homicides has
INCREASED now that the "gun control" nuts have had their way in Canada.
MORE people die, now that the fascist "gun control" nuts have made it harder
(almost impossible, in fact) for the average citizen to own a gun to protect
himself or herself. People are DYING because of what the "gun control"
nuts have done.
The fact that their brutal killers sometimes use knives, clubs, or even bare
knuckles to kill their victims, rather than use a gun to do so, doesn't
matter a hill of beans - their victim ends up just as dead. And, had their
intended victim owned a gun, they would NOT have died. That's what
"increased number of homicides" means.
But the "gun control" fascists are incapable of understanding that, so
instead they run around congratulating themselves and patting themselves on
the back because fewer people have died from gunshot. The fact that MORE
people have died doesn't really mean anything to those "gun control"
fascists. They are in pursuit of a mindless *ideology*, and are NOT in
pursuit of reducing the number of people actually killed.
John Lott has nailed the gun-grabbers butts, once again.
