Kerry's Whining Over Third Party Ads Rings Hollow
By Jimmy Moore
August 23, 2004
"They're funded by hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Republican
contributor out of Texas. They're a front for the Bush campaign. And the
fact that the president won't denounce what they're up to tells you
everything you need to know -- he wants them to do his dirty work."---
Democratic presidential nominee John F. Kerry commenting on the new
Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ad
I really love irony as much as the next guy, especially in the world of
politics. But does anyone else see the tremendously ironic hypocrisy
coming from the lips of John F. Kerry last week with his complaint about
third party ads?
Where has his criticism of third party groups been before now?!
Once again, John Kerry has demonstrated cowardice in the face of an
important challenge.
Earlier, when faced with the challenge of one of his fellow Swiftboats
having struck a mine, Kerry swung the helm around, hit the throttle, and
ran, leaving his fellow Swiftboaters to pull the dead and dying out of the
water.
This time, when faced with the challenge of President Bush inviting Kerry to
join him in condemning the 527 ads, Kerry has once again cut and run.
Some "leader".
John Kerry is pathetic.
"I'm denouncing all the stuff being on TV of the 527s," Mr. Bush told
reporters at his ranch in Crawford, Texas. "I hope my opponent joins me in
condemning these activities of the 527s."
Mr. Kerry has not taken up Mr. Bush on his offer to call for an end to all
ads by 527 groups, named for the section of the tax code that governs them.
Mr. Kerry's office did not return a call for comment yesterday.
