I'm posting from the USA, where my German ancestors started arriving in
the 1730s, with the last known arrival being a bit before the US Civil
War (1860s).
I should point out that most of the Germans in the States couldn't abide
slavery, which was almost exclusively the province of the English
settlers and their descendants. I might also point out that the slaves
were freed at the point of the bayonets of the German Americans, and no
serious historian disputes that. Further, when it came to fielding a
force against the Germans in the first two World Wars, few population
groups contributed more than the German Americans. It's one of the few
populations in opposition which actually scared the German Germans.
There's nothing a Hessen looks forward to less than facing in battle
another Hessen. And as good as was the engineering and strategic
brilliance of the German Germans, the German Americans did quite as
well, and unlike the German Germans, we weren't having to rebuild our
factories constantly due top constant bombardment.
Everyone all around likes to say that the war might have turned out far
differently if all of the allies hadn't given it their all. Everyone
helped. But please do be reminded that all of the allies such as Canada
or Australia had plenty of their own germanics to throw against the
military machine of the Third Reich, and about half of them had a grudge
to settle with the ancestors of the people who made life miserable
enough so as to have to seek a new life in some other kingdom's colonies.
Perhaps I'm trying to hint that if you want to pick a fight with the
Third Reich, go pick a fight with the old men drinking their beer and
eating their knackwurst; if you wish to pick a fight with some neonazi
skinheads you can find them as a very small minority in almost any
nation in the "western world". But please try to not pick a fight with
all of the rest of us simply because we're related to the nation that
took down the Roman Empire, that's a good lad.

Any defense of our German people is much appreciated. Your apologia for
the German race is lucid and not inaccurate. But let us not forget that
WW2 was a tragedy for white people all around, and the prospect of
German fighting German was not the least of the tragedies of this
absurd conflict. It is doubtful if it ever would have taken place were
it not for the very real threat of Communism which was at that time
hanging over all of Europe, and even the U.S. And let's also not forget
that the UK declared war on Germany FIRST (following Germany's entry
into Poland.) If Germany had not been defeated in WW2 perhaps we would
have not suffered through half a century of Cold War with all the
resources that it drained, not to mention the millions of people who
still live under communism TODAY.
