Certainly, Pike was a Confederate general, but by all accounts wasn't

I've never seen the statue -- I've just checked a few pictures of it,
just now -- and Pike is obviously depicted in civilian clothes rather

The statue, therefore, does not honor Pike AS a Confederate general,
which would be unusual in D.C. to say the least. The statue was
erected to honor him for his other accomplishments.
And about the ONLY other "accomplishments" of his are:
