In a decision announced this week (January 9, 2002), U.S. District Judge
Barbara Crabb, for the Western District of Wisconsin, found that a public
"grant to Faith Works constitutes unrestricted, direct funding of an
organization that engages in religious indoctrination" and that the
"funding stream violates the establishment clause."
I could keep going, but why bother.
Well, one reason you might want to bother going on is that it seems that
ruling you cited above hasn't done anything to stop President Bush's
faith-based initiative programs from moving forward. Probably because you
cite old, antiquated, and overruled court rulings dating back 3 years ago.
For a more up-to-date approach to life, one which may help you get back in
touch with reality, you might want to read the brochure being currently
published by the U.S. Department of Labor, Center for Faith-Based and
Community Initiatives, Miss Shadow.
Here, you can even read it for free, all by yourself, at:

Well, great! More opportunities for ACLU, FFRF and other triumphant
organizations to shine with new victories in court.

My God, I have cited article after article into this list..
and you pick on one, and pick on it, for being an old one ?

More Propaganda, without hard facts.
The statistics -aren't backing this alleged success.
The early studies, were biased for results. They allowed
people to join the program, and if they made a mistake,
they were thrown out.
Then the graduates were followed, and they were determined
to have "less re-occurrence" than non participants. This sounds
good until you realize they didn't track the drop outs.
If you add back in the drop outs, the gap goes away.
The catcher is, you could have a program that teaches
the divinity of the color Purple, and anyone who breaks
the rules, is forced to drop out. And in the end,
the -graduates- would exhibit less re-occurrences, of breaking
the rules.
Why ?
Because everyone so inclined to commit infarctions,
has already dropped out, by the end of the program.
The data was biased, to begin with.
More bad Science from the NeoCons.

They're all old. They're all outdated. Faith-based is here to stay.
It's legal, it's moral, it's ethical, and it's constitutional.
That's why the US Department of Labor has entire web pages devoted to it,
you see.

No, it's an actual web site, operated by the United States Government.

More *****.
Faith-based is here to stay.
So, that is why Judges are -starting- to rule it unconstitutional ?
It's legal, it's moral, it's ethical, and it's constitutional.
It's none of the above. It is indoctrination.
Sort of like the Moral Majority. They were neither.

So? This is the same Government that has been ordered to quit
broadcasting -covert- propaganda, by the Supreme Court.
If they were caught _boldly_ lying once, you think you can
trust their -other- publications ?
Surely you jest.
It's legal, it's moral, it's ethical, and it's constitutional.
In the end, it will be neither.
And judges already are beginning to disagree,
as far as it being Constitutional. It isn't.
