The grouping and the introduction of the use of the word supported by
Bush, Islamic Fascist, uttered by right wing blow hards as
Islamofascism, is much like Hitler's own claim that Communist,
Undesirable and Jew were all the same thing.
A catagory is constructed in which all people who are placed deserve to
die. Some kind of fascist or islamofascist group has been made, it
already is defined by members of Stalin and Mao and Hitler; so
obviously the people in this group deserve to die.
But Hitler and Mussolini called themselves fascists, they promoted the
idea, No one calls themselves an Islamofascist.
So it is now up to people like Bush and sadly that rather anti-muslim
American people to decide who is and is not an Islamofascist. Is an
arab who support a Palesinian state? Is a 13 year old gir in Iraq?
Right now the reason we are losing the war is that Bush, through a
series of blunders from failure to win in Afghanistan, invasion of
Iraq, mindless support for Israel in Lebanon, Bush has created the
conditions where almost ever Muslim on the planet knows that at any
moment they can be classed as an Islamofascist, killed or taken to
Gitmo.
And, not surprisingly, this strategy designed to promote Bush dying
career and legacy is causing the US to lose the war of hearts and
minds. Perhaps you remember that? Not heard much about it in the last
couple of years, but as I understand it is still the way we win this
war.

I am not supporting Bush, and I don't believe in throwing labels around
callously, but I thought you should be aware that the dictionary defines
"Fascism" thus:
"any movement, ideology, or attitude that favors dictatorial government,
centralized control of private enterprise, repression of all opposition, and
extreme nationalism"
Communism is an economic system and may be fascist at the same, as was
Soviet communism and is Chinese communism.
Islamic fundamentalist radicals are indeed generally fascist as they eminate
from, and support, dictatorial governments and the repression of opposition.
None of this has to do with what these groups 'choose to call themselves'.
They may deny that they support oppressive regimes and claim they are
therefore not fascists. But whether they are fascist or not depends upon
whether you think they fall into the dictionary definition, not how they'd
like to be defined.
