reading several Masonic monitors from several states, monitors published and
endorsed by their Grand Lodges, I was horrified.
Freemasonry is founded on a simple principal; the brotherhood of man under
the fatherhood of God. As such matters of religion are left up to the
individual Mason, just as matters of politics are left up to his own
beliefs. Freemasonry permits its members to be obligated on the book of
their faith. This allows the Muslim Freemason to take his obligation on the
Koran, the Jewish Mason on the Talmud etc.
The Grand Lodge of Louisiana supports Hall's explanation with these words
from 1980 printing of The Louisiana Monitor:
To the altar of Freemasonry all men bring their most votive offerings.
Around it all men, whether they have received their teachings from
Confucius, Zoroaster, Moses, Mohammed or the founder of the Christian

way of salvation, makes all religions valid under the "fatherhood of God and
