Um, bozo, Congress spent more than Reagan proposed in 7 of 8 years.
See this is where citing your assertions might begin to make you
believable and credible.
Having said that, he ALREADY is believable and credible. YOUR ignorance is
not OUR problem, you see.
But your ignorance IS what helps sustain you Democrats in the Number Two
position, you see.
First of all Reagan, himself, never submitted a balanced budget. So
please don't pretend he was fiscally responsible even though he ran on
a balanced budget platform.
According to this PRO-Reagan propaganda site
http://www.presidentreagan.info/reagan_budgets.cfm Congress spent a
total of 197.3 Billion more than Reagan asked for.
OK... assume that's true. Given that Reagan added some 1.7 TRILLION to
the national debt (http://www.publicdebt.treas.gov/opd/opdhisto4.htm)
Reagan's actually responsible for about 89% of the growth in the
national debt during his 8 years. You can try to blame Congress... but
that would be just another Rightist Orwellian rewrite of history.
