I would like to propose a new law:
Be it
enacted:
That at any time American troops are in combat., the
inauguration of a new
President shall take place at a private ceremony in Arlington
cemetery. This
ceremony shall be attended only by the president's immediate
family, the
Chief Justice or his designated official, plus two witnesses
who shall be
chosen from among the families of those killed in
action -either widows or
parents or children. Official flags shall fly at half mast and
no government
official shall attend or support or appear at parades, dances,

display or celebrations of any kind. This ceremony shall be
held on a week
day, shall last no longer than 15 minutes at which time all
involved shall
return to their normal duties.

interviews with Al Jazeera reporters revealed they believe the
terrorists can and will defeat America. Not because the
terrorists are superior to America in military firepower, but
because the American people are so easily deceived and
manipulated. According to the chief producer of Al Jeezera, all

of their mounting causalities, and the American people will
surrender to the will of the Muslim terrorists by forcing their

America to constantly post American defeatism, and harp on
American casualties without ever mentioning what America is
accomplishing as a result of those casualties.
It seems that many pro-terrorist and Al Jeezera operatives are
already very busy posting on these newsgroups.
War by its very nature cost lives, but 1200 lives, or 12 million,
this is one war the USA cannot afford to lose, that is if it
wants to remain the USA as we all know it. Is preserving the
life and culture of the USA worth going to war over and suffering
casualties? Yes of course. Should the enemy be allowed to
dictate to us how we inaugurate our leaders, or display our pomp
and ceremony? Should the US Government change one single
activity or tradition because a gaggle of drooling terrorist
goons and their supporters are waging war against the USA? Of
course not. The USA does not bow, scrape, negotiate with, nor
succumb to terrorists. Moreover, those brave coalition men and
women that gave their lives to help preserve the culture and
freedoms of the USA and its allies deserve all the pomp, ceremony
and respect we can muster. American Presidents do not slink away

there have been cowards, shirkers, and dissenters - but they are
very few in our National Guard and Ready Reserve. The US Army NG
and IRR troops are the best trained and the highest motivated
troops in the world. And of course the very few that want to
duck their contracted obligations get all the press.
Sensationalism sells newspapers, and the hundreds of thousands of
NG and IRR soldiers that are lining up to serve their country do
not represent sensationalistic news, the single dissenter does.
And yes, I am an American patriot, apple pie, Chevrolets, and
everything else American appeals to me.
