SAN BERNARDINO - The kidnap and rape of a 4-year-old girl triggered a
30-year-to-life prison term Friday against an illegal immigrant who
claims that two unidentified men forced him to assault the child.
"We don't think he'll ever get out of custody," Deputy District Attorney
Lynn Poncin said after the sentencing hearing for Sinoe Salgado Garcia,
a 28-year-old Fontana man.
Garcia initially confessed to the December 2005 attack in San
Bernardino, but he later recanted.
The child required surgery to repair damage caused by the rape and
sodomy, court records show. She also suffered three facial fractures.
