Lets see if I understand what you mean. "Liberal Democrats" spat on
soldiers returning from Vietnam. Lyndon Johnson who greatly escalated
the war was a liberal democrat. So I should assume by your line of
thinking that he was involved in spitting on returning soldiers? Just
wondering.

No he was involved in not giving the troops sufficient support and
thus killing many of them.
