Is Labor more obsessed with means than ends? A party of Technocrats,
hopeful of more efficient Morloks to serve their Eloi masters?

A society without a metaphysical *Faith* anymore can only be ruled with
technocrats.
That is what happens. It's all there is left.
This is why the mass mind is now vulnerable to other faiths... belief in
lineal *progress* determined by technocrats. Belief in slogans. Belief in
'scientists' foretelling the end of the world unless ' ye repent and come
unto me '...the scientist.
It''s all determined by belief in someone or someone's influential
obsession that's been marketed to them....rap music for the young,
property ownership for the mass.
What else is there?

Mass conformity is death. Whether technocrats or "Faith".

# Going beyond the evidence a bit aren't you?
Mass conformity is what societies try to achieve for the sake of the living.
The historical evidence for non conformity is social disintegration. If
not disintegration then at least disruptive change. Change it's rarely
peaceful.
So all societies seek conformity. Look at it as an expression of the
survival instinct.
Only the young engage in kicking conformity because they yet have to suffer
the results of chaos. And they are the ones who engage in chaotic life.
Maturity seeks conformity for the sake of peace, not death.

People will always believe whatever they want, it is
basically understood that even connecting their
genitals up to electrodes still cannot change a persons
deeply held opinion. Socrete got it right, that only through reason
can a persons opinion be changed and faith, for the
most part, inhibits rational discourse.

Mass conformity is what societies try to achieve for the sake of the living.
The historical evidence for non conformity is social disintegration. If
not disintegration then at least disruptive change. Change it's rarely
peaceful.

Conformity has always been in the way of progress, since
progress implies 'new' ideas, ideals, so conservatism has
been in opposition. But as history shows its the non-conformist
who have the unconventional ideas that have made our
societies so comfortable. In fact all health societies reward
non-violent unconventional ideas just as they punnish
violent conventional ones. Religious conservatism is an
enemy if it bombs abortion clinics, just as much as a
activist who takes their cause to a violent level. Gandhi
showed how to bring down a superpower through non-violent
means. You are correct, Jesus, Gandhi, Socretes, all were
nonconformists, they led to the disintegration of the power
that was then in place. However, Gandhi and Socrete
have never been used as a call to war, that I know of.
Thats the sin of God, Jihad.

So all societies seek conformity. Look at it as an expression of the
survival instinct.

Societies seek to filter out bad conservatism and bad liberalism. Duh.
Its obvious from evolution that better to giht another day than
die unnecessarily today, just as its better to use non-violent
debate to achieve change. Justice.

Only the young engage in kicking conformity because they yet have to suffer
the results of chaos. And they are the ones who engage in chaotic life.
Maturity seeks conformity for the sake of peace, not death.

Young people are driven by the need to gather resources
to mate and nest, hormones drive them, this is animals are,
but even they know that overturning the government, society,
will make that job harder (unless the government is the problem).
Mass conformity thus is death to a society, just as a total lack
of conformity. Freedom is to be rewarded, conformity viewed as
a consequence of Freedom not its master.
