What John Kerry lacks
Thursday, June 10, 2004 - Page A22
As 2,000 Democratic activists gathered in Washington last week to
plot
President George W. Bush's defeat in the coming presidential election, the
energy in the room was electric. The guest of honour leaped to the stage;
the crowd emitted a spontaneous roar. The speech was a barnburner.
Pity, for the Democrats, that it was delivered by Howard Dean.
Today's Democrat Party now looks to the Truly Insane to bail the Party out
of its woes.
That's so unfair. We've always been nuts.
Republicans are square, and have financial scandals. Demos are fun and
crazy and have sex scandals.
I don't want to change sides.
Howie, fresh on the heels of making an absolute ***** of himself in the
pre-convention Demmie runup period, now apparently hopes to compete with the
handwaving Algore for the title of "Most Insane Democrat of the 3rd Quarter
of 2004.
It's a close race.
