According to Christian belief the supreme God is an insane monster who
demands blood sacrifice. This crazed demon has a son, who is also in
some wierd magical way the same person as his father. Anyway this God
got himself really upset at some supposed slight the first humans he
created did to him and so, being the evil and vindictive monster he
is, he cursed them and all their children and desendents and forced
them live forevermore subject to disease, suffering and death.

That's not the end of the story, though. The sadistic demon-god
thought up a plan to further slake his blood lust. He decided to send
his son to be horrifically tortured and killed by the humans as he
figured, him being such a big shot, that only the torture and murder
of his son was good enough to atone for the slight the humans are
supposed to have committed against him. For torturing his son the
humans are supposed to be let off, provided they believe in the son he
gave to them to be murdered.

That's more or less what Christianity and the film is all about.

You can be as synical and sarcastic as you want but that does not
change the fact that he was the Son of God. YOu have horrible
outlooks on My God, who he is and what he stands for. My GOd is not
only loving but he is love. He also stands for justice (which some
find as cruel). I find it righteous.

THis movie has put a face on the injustice of the crusifiction. I
think it is about time that someone did it and did it right.

It did happen and it happened for a reason so that we can now have
free access to the Father.

I plan to see this movie as soon as I can!

Clough and his ilk are just bitter that Gibson's excellent film rocketed to
the top of the charts the very first day it opened, drawing orders of
magnitude more box office receipts than ANY other film playing. It will
thus take Gibson all of about 2 days to recoup ALL of his personal expenses
in producing that fine film.
Gibson has succeeded in uniting Americans, which is what the Liberals used
to say is what they wanted to have happen. Evangelical Protestants and
Roman Catholics alike have come together over this film, much to the chagrin
of the Liberals.
More importantly, Gibson has succeeded in accurately portraying what The
Christ suffered on Man's behalf. For years, Liberals have played a
childish game of pretending Jesus wasn't a real man (he was just a baby,
"meek and mild", laying in a manger, to those Libs) and pretending He didn't
really suffer for Man's sake. That game's over for those Libs.
With well over 90% of Americans acknowledging their faith in God (Gallup
reports the figure to be 98%) Gibson has produced a film destined to unite
those Americans, which really frightens the Libs.
Ignore their taunts, Shannon. Just as Jesus ignored the taunts of those who
wanted to crucify Him.

Thanks, that was encouraging. I have plans to go see the movie both
on Wednesday with my co-youth pastor and also on Sunday with my entire
church. I've heard amazing things about it and although Im kinda
scared to see it (knowing emotionally it is going to be hard, seeing
my best firend and saviour torn apart like that) I know it is
sommething I HAVE to support.
THanks again for your encouragement.

And when you see Jesus being ripped apart, tortured and crucified you
can meditate on the sort of god that demanded a sacrifice like that
before he would accept mankinds reconciliation and wether it is the
sort of god you really want to have.

Get the facts right.
It was his own father who wanted Jesus tortured and crucified.
The sadistice pervert god you worship revels in human sacrifice,
suffering and murder. You can see it all in Gibsons film.
You are a demon worshipper.

The answer is coming, but first we need a little history:
Protestants and Catholics used to be at each others throats in a
big way. Today Christians drool over slaughtering Muslims. And yet
deep down they all want the same things. They are against the
homosexual perverts and the feminists. They are against pornography
and all forms of degeneracy. Maybe the Muslims are more extreme in
these matters, but to outside observers it looks like those kind of
people should be on the same side and fighting for the same things.
That is not to say that all Christians are for those things. A
third of the clergy of the Church of England are homosexual perverts.
But there was a school of thought that was called "the right". Now the
enemies of these type of people knew that "the right" stood for
righteousness so naturally they called them "goodie two shoes". The
right was ridiculed and mocked.
All of this brings us to another class of people. These are the
Christian pacifists who accept labels put on them. After all it says
in the Bible to turn the other cheek. Mister Rogers "It's a wonderful
day in the neighborhood" was and ordained Christian minister.
This didn't sit too well with those who like religion because it is
against the homosexual perverts, the feminists and the fags. So
naturally had to show some machismo. Many of the Christians took up
Capitalism as their main goal. After all the Communists were
anti-Christian. Now these Christians don't care about the poor in the
least. If the poor can't find a job then let them starve and decrease
the surplus population. They find their machismo in their selfishness.
And also slaughtering Muslims is a need for them, so they can show
they are not the Mr Rogers kind of Christians.
This brings us to the Passion movie. Violence is necessary if the
movie is to be popular. If it were a pansy movie about Jesus people
would feel like wearing bags over their heads so no one would see them
go in the movie theater.
