Bush refused to go through the U.N.
Nope. In fact Bush presented his case to the U.N.
Apparently you have already forgotten Colin Powell's presentations before
that body. It was even televised. YOUR poor memory is not OUR problem,
Martin.
And got this response, if you'll recall:
"The United States and Britain have delayed a United Nations vote on
their resolution giving Iraq a March 17 ultimatum to disarm or face
war, after France and Russia threatened a veto and six uncommitted
nations refused to back Washington.
With President George W Bush anxious to resolve the UN standoff
quickly and with 300,000 troops poised to invade Iraq, the United
States was forced to accept a delay on Monday in its diplomatic
timetable due to lack of support at the UN "
No vote was ever taken. Bush invaded anyway.
You claim 1441 gave him the authority? Then why did Powell and Bush
try to get another vote authorizing an invasion?
The UN did not support the invasion, even though Bush tried to get a
vote. They told him to *****.
