I notice that you are posting from Colombia, and yet pretend to teach
us Americans about your recipe for the success of a country. Presumably
you and your fellow Colombian nationals have made such a shinning
example of Colombia, that now you want to export your ideas to the USA.
Our collective short answer is:
Thanks for your good intentions, but we prefer the American way.
First of all, the reason America stands out is NOT the dedication to
the rule of law at every level as you so ignorantly stated, as we
prefer to have laws which are flexible, adjustable and adaptable to the
best interests of the country and to its diverse population groups.
The blind adherence to that law that you describe -being contrary to
freedom-, is the dominant force in autocratic countries.
We Americans challenge the laws, and adjust them. That's the reason for
having a 3 branches of power.

ps: Move to the country East of Colombia which is dedicated to the Rule
of The Law -as seen by one individual. You will be very happy there.

Ramon, nice twist of the truth. It is true we can change our laws
but until that happens all nice and neat on paperwork, the laws in
place already have to be obeyed! So that kind blows your remark
about "blind adherence to the law", doesn't it? Adherence is
MANDATORY until such laws are changed.

You are very wrong, Ms. Sandy Myers. People's and business desires to
ignore a law (didn't they mention "unenforced laws" in your civics
classes?) are a perfectly valid way to have laws rewritten. It has
happened before, and it is happening as we speak. Ask the ACLU.

Ramon, typical latino mindset. Laws mean nothing to you in your
cultures. Thats why you don't belong here in America. Your culture
doesn't fit with ours.
