Red states need blue state money to survive. |
Red staters (those that voted for junior) are kind of like Iraq. They need
blue state money to make ends meet. They should get down on their knees and
thank their lucky stars for the generosity of blue staters.

Of the 32 states (and the District of Columbia) that are "winners" --
receiving more in federal spending than they pay in federal taxes -- 76% are
Red States that voted for George Bush in 2000. Indeed, 17 of the 20 (85%)
states receiving the most federal spending per dollar of federal taxes paid
are Red States. Here are the Top 10 states that feed at the federal trough.

Their statement that imports already exceed exports is false. The U.S.
agricultural trade surplus is shrinking, however, and the USDA says
that it could turn into a deficit within this decade. See

That's somewhat misleading, however. What's declining is our exports
of bulk commodities; the cheap stuff. What is increasing is our
imports of higher quality processed foods; Warsteiner and Kirin and
Sapporo to displace that goddamned horse ***** Budweiser. The U.S. is
not importing bulk food crops, and probably never will.

Not quite. Even your source doesn't say that.
Again, it's misleading. Importing food is not a sign of weakness, and
exporting it is not necessarily a sign of strength.
The whole picture is somewhat misleading, because the foodstuffs being
imported are much more processed than what we export. We're importing
higher quality and higher priced things and exporting lower cost bulk
commodities. That is, we're sending out bulk grain, and we're getting
back Italian prosciutto and Parmesan cheese, and excellent German beer.
I'd say it's an excellent trade. Between imports of Warsteiner,
Bitburger and Spaten, plus the strong emergence of our own microbrewery
industry, maybe Anheuser-Busch and Miller will stop producing so much
of that donkey ***** the red-staters love to guzzle, and start producing
some decent beer. American beer isn't fit to clean out a filthy cat
box; but red-staters just swig it down.

Our pumps have a Fed sticker in the winter that says it's mandated for some
silly emission or other.
Seems to be Nov to Feb.
My Harley mech told me not to try working on the carb or manifold during
those months, as all the gaskets, and seals would be so swollen that they
would require replacement if opened up.
Between a mech, and a pol, no contest, I believe the mech.
